The Analytics team within the Marketing Department at State Farm is seeking a Marketing Data Analytics Analyst . This role consults on key performance indicators for Marketing strategies and campaigns, analyzes product, customer, and geographic opportunities, and conducts research to assess and optimize marketing performance.

Core Research and Reporting responsibilities include:

  • Designing and executing formal analyses to evaluate tactic performance and inform marketing strategy
  • Compiling, preparing, and translating complex data into user-friendly reports with actionable insights
  • Collaborating with business partners to identify new research and testing needs and opportunities


Highly Preferred Skills and Experiences:
  • Experience conducting assessments of marketing performance with an emphasis on media, digital, and/or marketing attribution analytics, but including other marketing functions as well.
  • Ability to extract, manipulate and analyze large and complex sets of data to provide business insights across a broad range of needs and target audiences
  • Experience working across multiple computing platforms and operating systems, with an emphasis on AWS, but including other platforms as well (such as Hadoop or DB2)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or SAS, or an ability to readily acquire proficiency based on experience with comparable programming/querying languages
  • Experience producing reports and presentations using business intelligence and visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Tableau, QlikView, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively, both individually and as a member of a project or Agile team

Other Skills and Experiences:
  • Familiarity with statistical analyses which, depending on job level, could include experimental testing, regression, and other advanced statistical techniques
  • Knowledge of Salesforce processes, data, and reporting
  • College degree in an analytics-oriented discipline (e.g., Social or Natural Sciences, Marketing, Statistics, Business Analytics, etc.) and/or analytics-related work experience.
