Job Description

Attention NJ Applicants: In April 2020, our Company announced plans to consolidate our New Jersey campuses into a single New Jersey headquarters location in Rahway, NJ by 2023. Therefore, the NJ work location for this role will be temporarily based and the exact timing of the departmental move to Rahway, NJ will be communicated at a future date.

Data Strategy & Innovation Associate Director:

The incumbent is responsible for supporting Human Health (HH) in having an industry-leading strategy and approach to sourcing & creating commercial data assets to inform business critical decisions and actions. Under direction of the Data Strategy & Innovation Leader, the incumbent will be assigned to create & implement the HH data asset strategy & innovation agenda, for digital interactions and promotional data across all therapeutic areas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively maintains a comprehension of the HH commercial data landscape, including assigned 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party data assets, spanning HCP, consumer, payer, Digital, patient, account, etc. Maintains a working knowledge of the use cases and value associated with each data asset.

  • Continually scans the external environment for new valuable data assets and potential data partnerships in the assigned area.

  • Conducts data needs assessments in assigned areas using input from key analytics and business stakeholders, identifies gaps in current data strategy versus ideal state & prioritizes identified gaps.

  • For assigned areas, builds, and executes plans to fill prioritized gaps, including acquisition of new assets from external sources, or identifying partners to create needed assets, or enacting internal initiatives such as gathering new 1st party assets.

  • Partners with internal team to ingest/review external data sources for use by the analytic teams

  • Conducts assigned data innovation diagnostics including data quality assessments, fit-for-purpose analyses, and proof-of-concept use case tests.

  • Leads the effort to capture and maintain business rules for digital interactions, including overseeing the governance and change management for the data.

  • Assists the Data Enablement Leader in defining, deploying and leading the governance model for digital interaction data.

  • Works in close association with the data enablement teams to ensure appropriate implementation and value realization.

  • Accountable for forming and maintaining productive working partnerships with assigned data providers.

  • Creates an environment of high-performance partnership by building strong cross-functional teams

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to define business value of new datasets, execute pilots, and successfully transition to operational teams.

  • Develop well-articulated strategy to succeed in an evolving digital media and data landscape

  • Nurture relationships and establish a reputation for subject matter expertise across the Human Health organization in service of promoting digital innovation.

  • Ability to synthesize complicated technical concepts in a way that understandable and actionable.

Knowledge & Education:

  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, IT, MBA, or an equivalent scientific/commercial discipline

  • Three or more years of knowledge in analyzing healthcare administrative data, electronic health records, and/or disease/patient registries for relevant quantitative and qualitative research.

Preferred:

  • MS (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, IT, MBA, or an equivalent scientific/commercial discipline

Qualifications:

  • Strong business acumen with a keen ability to comprehend how data (HCP, consumer, payer, patient, account, engagement, etc.) can be leveraged to inform critical commercial decisions and actions.

  • Deep understanding of the digital space including promotional and social media data, standards and tools.

  • Proven ability to analyze and assess the commercial value of data assets.

  • Strong business acumen necessary to appreciate business stakeholders (marketing, sales, account management, operations, etc..) needs.

  • Proven potential to effectively partner with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Academic curiosity and ability to identify innovative approaches to addressing data needs.

  • Accountability – holding self (and others) accountable to meet commitments

  • Proactive, positive, self-starter with a passion for continually improving the processes around you

  • Knowledge of established and emergent identity resolution workflows utilized in digital, patient, and physician datasets (LiveRamp, Datavant, etc.)

  • Experience executing data strategy engagements in a SaaS, advertising agency, or management consultant capacity

  • Understanding of cloud computing workflows and the integration of datasets across multiple systems (AWS, GCP, Azure, GA etc.)

  • In-depth knowledge of the digital media ecosystem, brand marketing, and technology industry

  • An interest and curiosity in the evolving technology and privacy landscape, and how marketers must adapt

  • Excellent presentation, analytics and communication skills, both written and oral, are to synthesize key issues and convey/persuade constituencies towards specific actions and initiatives.

  • Ability to attain “trusted advisor” status with key stakeholders and business clients.

  • Ability to operate in dynamic, transforming environment.

Expected salary range:

$159,200.00 - $250,700.00
