Job Description

The Future Talent Program features co-ops that last up to 6 months and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our company's Research Labs can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Chemoproteomics Co-op to join our team and support our ongoing research efforts in drug discovery. The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker with a strong background in biochemistry, proteomics, mass spectrometry, and data analysis.

Learning opportunities in this Co-op may include:

  • Learning about mass spectrometry-based proteomics and related data analysis, and how proteomics efforts play a role in drug discovery

  • Attending departmental and team meetings to gain a wider perspective of the drug discovery and development process in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Managing and analyzing proteomics data using relevant software programs (Proteome Discoverer, MaxQuant, Skyline, R, Python, etc.)

  • Performing data processing, visualization, statistical analysis to identify and interpret changes in protein expression, curve fitting, etc.

  • Troubleshooting data quality issues that may arise during data analysis and perform quality control assessments to ensure data integrity

  • Building computational tools to support proteomics data analysis and visualization

  • Documenting data analysis details and findings in electronic notebooks and data repositories, and presentation of data and their interpretation to a team of scientists

  • Communicating project progress at internal meetings; give a verbal presentation at the completion of project; participate in scientific exchange with industry scientists


  • Candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program or higher education in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Bioinformatics or related field with demonstrated interest/experience in research areas relevant to the drug discovery

  • Candidates must have completed at least two (2) years of studies towards a Bachelor's degree or at least one (1) year towards a Master’s/Ph.D. by the start of the Co-op

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Candidate must be able to commit to full-time onsite employment for 4 - 6 months beginning 2024

  • Candidates must have basic knowledge and experience in biochemistry, biology, bioinformatics, statistics, and analysis of omics data (proteomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, etc.)

  • Candidates must have basic knowledge and experience in analyzing high-dimensional data, including the use of relevant software programs/packages and statistical methods

  • Candidate must have strong knowledge and experience in at least one programming language (R, Python, etc.)

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Familiarity with common proteomics strategies and assays (TMT, label-free, DIA, PTM analysis, whole proteome profiling, IP-MS, etc)

  • Hands-on experience practicing proteomics sample preparation and mass spectrometer instrumentation in a relevant setting

  • Strong knowledge and experience in proteomics data analysis software, tools, and workflows (MaxQuant, ProteomeDiscoverer, Skyline, FragPipe, Perseus, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis, etc)

  • Strong knowledge and experience in common protein/proteomics public resources (Uniprot, ProteomicsDB, etc)

  • Strong knowledge and experience in multi-omics data analysis and data science (database, cloud, etc)

  • Strong knowledge and experience in software development

  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and data mining

  • Strong publication record and/or presentations at scientific conferences

  • Candidates should have GPA of 3.0 or higher

Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:

$39,600.00 - $105,500.00
