Eaton’s ES AMER DIG division is currently seeking a Proposal Manager (Data Centers Software). This position can be based out of our Arden, NC; Raleigh, NC; Tampa, FL; Pittsburgh, PA; or Cleveland, OH offices. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of one of these locations.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

The Proposal Manager plays a critical role in shaping Brightlayer Datacenter’s success by coordinating and creating compelling proposals. This position collaborates closely with Solution Architects, Application Engineers (AEs), and cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive proposals encompassing hardware, software (subscriptions and/or licensing), and installation/commissioning. As a Proposal Manager, you’ll contribute to the continuous improvement of pricing and proposal processes, ensuring alignment with Brightlayer Data Centers overall strategy.

Essential responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the entire proposal process from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to established strategies and plans.
  • Review incoming proposals from both external and internal sources.
  • Create price proposals that reflect the value proposition and align with organizational goals.
  • Oversee vendor relationship management for third-party pricing components within proposals.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, legal, finance, partners, and customers during proposal development.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter and Technical Experts to gather relevant information for proposal content.
  • Contribute to the organization’s success by actively participating in process improvements and strategic initiatives.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of previous experience working in a global business, software deployment services, and sales / marketing environment.
  • Experience in developing proposals for new business opportunities, including RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
  • Familiarity with Software as a Service (SaaS) models, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in value-based pricing approaches for software system solutions.
  • Understanding of software execution, including the technical aspects of solution implementation.
  • Ability to contribute to the creation of detailed Statements of Work (SOW) for proposals.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • No relocation is offered for this position; only applicants located within 50 miles of the posted locations will be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with datacenter operations, software, and processes
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience working with project management and Agile methodology
  • Experience with PowerBI and Power Automate
