Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. Team members are passionate about their technology specialty and communicate at an expert-level.Specialists have two primary functions:1) Specialists use their technology expertise to help customers succeed with Oracle technology.2) Specialists share their expert knowledge to help other sales consultants, partners, and customers make the most effective use of Oracle technology.The Database Specialist is a recognized Oracle Database expert.This member of the specialist team will build and deliver Oracle Database demonstrations, help lead proof of concept (POC) projects, help diagnose and resolve technical challenges, and build effective and compelling technical presentations.Knowledge about key Oracle Database technologies is crucial including: Oracle RAC, Oracle Exadata, Oracle ExaCC, Oracle ExaCS, Oracle Autonomous DB, Oracle Database Vault, Oracle Audit Vault, Oracle DataGuard, Oracle GoldenGate, and Oracle Data Integrator. In addition, experience supporting databases for Oracle ERP such as E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, and Siebel are desired.Hands-on experience and superior communications skills are equally important.Specialists maintain a close working relationship with Oracle product development and product management teams in order to help educate other members of the Oracle sales team about product features and capabilities.
