Looking for an exciting opportunity to make an impact as a Transition Manager?

1901 Group (A Leidos Company) is seeking a highly motivated Transition Manager out of our Enterprise Operations Center in Blacksburg, VA with opportunities to work remotely. The Transition Manager will support a variety of infrastructure management activities and practices with a team of highly motivated, individuals who work in a collegial, collaborative work environment providing Cloud support to our DoD customer.


The Transition Manager will be responsible for successful execution of a transition plan to take over IT infrastructure and security management of an existing customer’s cloud environment. The Transition Manager will need to work closely with all parties and will serve as a key interface with the client during the transition-in phase.


• Responsible for leading the successful execution of a transition plan to take over IT infrastructure and security management of an existing customer’s cloud environment.
• Ensure 1901 Group personnel have required knowledge and access to required tools, systems, etc. for service delivery.
• Oversee and coordinate all transition activities working closely with the customer, program/project managers, service level managers, architects/engineers and subject matter experts.
• Collaborate with all stakeholders for early risk identification and mitigation
• Provide direction to subcontractor companies as required
• Oversee 1901 Group recruiting, hiring, and onboarding
• Lead development of transition related deliverables and briefings to customers, internal senior program management, and executive leadership
• Document and present Lessons Learned for the transition
• Be an agent for change, possess high energy, have a passion for quality, and be self-motivated.

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in project management, additional years of experience will be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Experience transitioning IT program/service from one provider to another provider
• Strong Project Management skills and able to manage long term projects and multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently with little to no management guidance.
• Strong Team player.
• Detail oriented with excellent communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changes (financial, schedule, requirements)
• Analytical with strong problem skills
• Data and evidence driven
• Interested in process, practice standards, or organizational quality management
• US Citizen


• DoD Secret clearance is required prior to start (Interim Secret clearance is acceptable)


• Familiarity with cloud technology environments – specifically cloud based IT operations and IT Managed Service delivery
• Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow
• PMP certification
• ITIL certification

Pay Range:Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00
