The primary focus of this role is to support Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) as the Senior Manager of EOHSS within the Department of Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety and Sustainability (EOHSS) at the Manatí facility. The individual in this role will be responsible for leading the site’s environmental, occupational health, safety, and sustainability efforts within the internal manufacturing space to drive long-term company and stakeholder value. The position will support the execution of strategies to maintain a safe, healthy, and environmental compliant site. In this role, The Senior Manager will report to the site Lead Director within the department of Environment, Occupational Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EOHS) at the Manatí facility.

The Senior Manager will coordinate, implement, assess, and improve environmental, safety, occupational health, and sustainability outcomes at the direction of the associate director using global and local regulations and consensus guides, BMS management systems, policies, and procedures. The Senior Manager will promote compliant, forward-leaning culture and preserve BMS’ reputation while driving shared Company objectives.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for implementation of new and updating/improving EOHSS programs, policies, to ensure that they meet BMS standards, and compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, safety, medical surveillance, and sustainability laws, regulations, codes, rules, and consensus guides. Specially focus in Industrial Hygiene and Management Systems.

  • Accountable for understanding the business and the application to the regulatory framework to provide practical technical assistance to EOHSS programs and activities on-site. practical technical guidance.

  • Accountable for EOHSS regulatory preparedness and building rapport and trust through all interactions (external agencies and internal stakeholders)

  • Participates in EOHSS operational and tier discussions, EOHSS committees and teams; and EOHSS self-assessments and audits at the direction of the site Associate Director

  • Collaborates on EOHSS governance structures and forums at the direction of the site Lead Director

  • Working knowledge of applicable Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

  • Working knowledge and application in manufacturing environment with a focus on Environmental, Management Systems and Industrial Hygiene particularly compound banding.

  • Strong Incident Investigation and Corrective and Preventative Action skill set

  • Proficiency in EOHSSs specific IT applications for reporting and inspection.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) + years of direct EOHSS experience in manufacturing preferably pharmaceutical space.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in environmental, industrial hygiene, physical sciences, engineering

  • Prefer certification through an accredited organization or a six-sigma certification (green belt or above)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred

  • Certified Industrial Hygiene preferred
