We are looking for a Manager to be responsible for development, maintenance and support of the global Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) solution that is utilized globally across the Digital Plant manufacturing network to produce medicine.

The MES Platform Digital Capability Manager scope includes MES hardware and software components, system architecture and network design, cybersecurity, automation, and any customizations that support Digital Plant manufacturing systems and operations.

This position is responsible for successful delivery of projects and continuous improvement initiatives focused on robustness, effectiveness and cost reductions in manufacturing operations.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the management and delivery the MES platform roadmap, taking into consideration emerging technologies and supporting the continuing maturity of Digital Plant
  • Design and deliver MES architecture with an emphasis on business continuity to minimize or eliminate unplanned downtime
  • Design and execute an upgrade and patch strategy that minimizes or eliminates any outage time
  • Assess the risk and impact that changes, patches, outages or other events can have to the MES solution and the global network.
  • Work with senior management to define and manage system maintenance and archiving along with an effectiveness monitoring strategy to ensure consistent system performance
  • Work with senior management to determine a cloud strategy that can provide a cost effective primary and/or backup hosting solution
  • Assist with determining metrics that accurately measure and track Syncade performance and define a tuning and monitoring strategy to optimize performance
  • Assist with delivering simple to complex changes to the MES solution to the global manufacturing network
  • Ensuring compliance with data integrity and computer system validation requirements and regulations. Ability to understand changes that impact validated state of application and underlying infrastructure.
  • Assist with the creation of scripts, tools, and other resources to automate MES system deployments.
  • Authoring of technical documentation / ALM scripts
  • Assist with advanced troubleshooting, investigating defects, and building R&D environments to test next generation solutions.
  • Assist with system upgrade and application patching activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science and 3+ years' industry in Life Sciences Industry working with Syncade MES
  • Previous successful execution of Syncade MES projects preferred
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience managing computer systems
  • Previous management experience (preferred)
  • Direct experience designing, building, deploying and supporting automation and execution systems (Syncade, DeltaV, PI Data historian, etc.) in regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience with Windows, IIS, Registry, ODBC, DCOM, ActivePDF, SQL AlwaysON, Windows Clusters, F5’s, and VMWare (preferred)
  • Strong domain expertise in the application of IT to manufacturing, including a broad understanding of processes and how they are supported by IT tools and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory landscape and demonstrated experience with software validation.
  • Proven track record of successful IT/automation project delivery
  • Ability to work across global sites and cultures.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
