This position is to lead within the Field Enablement Capabilities team. The individual would hold a strong hands-on experience to manage depth of the Veeva commercial enterprise capabilities covering multiple CRM functional areas across matrix functional teams. Role will be responsible for shaping, delivering & supporting Veeva Commercial cloud capabilities & road maps for Commercialization global field forces (i.e., Sales, Medical & Access) in partnership with matrix teams in IT and business functional teams across US and International Markets (as required).

Position Responsibilities

  • Work as the primary IT lead across matrix teams in IT Commercialization and business teams to analyze & validate published requirements to deliver technical solutions
  • Design & develop cost effective solutions that meet functional, technical, security and performance requirements which also adhere to platform design standards & release management process
  • Lead, plan & deliver new and/or existing strategic platform capabilities that create tangible business value
  • Act as expert for system processes and workflows. Participate in analysis and provide input and recommendations for meeting business requirements.
  • Partner with Veeva to define additional Veeva opportunities at BMS and drive those opportunities to the platform, further enabling the Enterprise Veeva Capability Platform model. 
  • Collaborate with matrix teams to shape & drive platform roadmap in support of business & platform needs
  • Lead and partner with matrix teams to drive and govern change board processes across capabilities and projects
  • Collaborate with matrix teams (i.e., Business, IT, Security, External Vendors, etc.) to ensure smooth execution of programs, projects, and support activities to meet business needs
  • Drive business case through strong understanding of business needs and articulation of outcome-based approach. Strong presentation skills are required to process requests through the IT investment process.
  • Oversee multiple projects across different business units (i.e., Commercial, Medical and Access) while supporting cross-functional activities related to vendor product releases, capability roadmaps, and other Commercialization field endeavors
  • Execute & manage IT vendor contract(s) and Service Order(s) as needed
  • Ensure management & control of IT project and / or operational financials and budgets as needed
  • Partner with external platform partners/vendors to influence & drive their product roadmaps
  • Ensure technical solutions are compliant with BMS policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Identify, clarify, and resolve system development and/or maintenance activity issues and risks, escalating them as needed.

Desired Experience

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry working on Field force initiatives involving Veeva Commercial capabilities (i.e., CRM, Approved Email, Engage, Account Management, Suggestions, Vault PromoMats, Vault MedComm’s, etc.)
  • Experience supporting Commercial, Medical and Access field force systems
  • Experience using Agile practices & methodologies
  • Understanding of master data strategies and information hubs a plus
  • Proven leadership and decision-making skills
  • Strong presentation, verbal & written skills to deliver clear & transparent communications
  • Think strategically while delivering tactically across local and global teams
  • Can communicate the “big picture” in terms of overall solution (both functional & technical components) and break it down into smaller manageable work units
  • Project management experience with the proven ability to prioritize, handle risk, control costs, adhere to timelines and manage project teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple complex initiatives in fast paced dynamic environment
  • Comfortable working with limited direction and/or independently
  • Relationship building skills across functions and geographies
  • High energy and works with sense of urgency
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Familiar with documenting current state process flows and/or process mapping tools (Examples: Process mapping in PowerPoints or Visio, etc.)
  • PMP certification preferred, and/or LEAN process improvement experience with commercial focus
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills, with strategic thinking, and a strong attention to detail
  • Team player with good leadership capabilities, a diplomatic approach, excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude

Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:

  • Demonstrated the ability to work effectively across matrixed teams to deliver results
  • Experience in Veeva Commercial Vault platform
  • Knowledge of the Pharma MLR Process globally
  • Strategic partnering skills for anticipating needs, identifying opportunities, and driving delivery
