This is a hybrid position, remote and dedicated time at the Account’s branch locations.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Sales Manager to join Eaton’s Brightlayer Sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving software sales revenue through a hybrid sales approach, including direct, overlay, and channel sales. This role will be closely aligned with the adjacent Eaton sales teams within the Southeast territory. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to excel in a fast-paced, matrixed, and entrepreneurial environment. In this function you will:

  • Identify and establish market and industry relationships to drive Eaton software solutions more broadly in the region.
  • Team with Eaton sales and account management resources to find and manage software sales opportunities. Lead the software discussions with customers from the

technical user levels to the C-suite.

  • Build relationships with channel partners to provide technical and sales training and collateral to better enable the partner ecosystem to build software sales


  • Conduct software webinars, training, and demo sessions to educate and inform market or customer audiences.
  • Assist prospective customers with architecture and integration details as part of the pre-sales efforts to close software business opportunities. This includes

responses to RFP process required as part of sales opportunities.

  • Possess a strong understanding of value and benefits of the software for the both the channel partner and end customer conversations.
  • Manage and track pipeline activity in sales CRM software with a goal to maximize the market share of the software solutions.
  • Possess strong understanding of complementary hardware solutions which will be included in solution sales opportunities. Hardware will include facility and rack

power distribution, environmental sensors, cooling infrastructure and physical access solutions deployed by customers to supported locations.


Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

• Minimum seven (7) years Technical Software sales experience

• Minimum five (5) years outcomes selling, consultative, software solution selling experience to executive and technical buyers

• No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of a state in the Southeast near a major airport

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred qualifications:

• 5 years of experience developing and translating business use cases to solution requirements and architecture documentation, with focus on software solutions.

• Experience selling network/edge or data management

• Understanding of standard enterprise networking infrastructure concepts


• Deep domain expertise in infrastructure monitoring software and related infrastructure hardware components.

• Established presence in the region with channel contacts to quickly grow selling capabilities of the software solutions. Presentation experience

The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $138,750-$203,500

Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
