What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer/ Solutions Architect to lead Automation transformation within Systems & Maintenance Engineering. You will play a key role in architecting automation solution across critical network initiatives and lead cross-functional teams to implement automated testing Lab solutions, identify areas of improvement in processes, collaborate with DevOps tool-chain Framework team, and investigate cutting edge technologies that will bring value and elevate Lab certification process. You will interact with network platform Subject Matter Experts, Business Architects, Operations teams, Project managers, and vendors to implement unique solutions for complex problems. You’ll also employ SAFe and DevOps techniques into the ME automation development process.

  • Leading DevOps automation for critical network initiatives within Wireline Maintenance Engineering organization.
  • Leading cross-functional team of Subject Matter Experts and influence a robust automation solution that can be utilized across Lab and Production.
  • Leading multiple projects, mentor junior DevOps engineers, develop network automation using Python, and integrate scripts for a full CI/CD execution.
  • Acting as subject matter expert on automation, developing scripting solutions, and architecting complex solutions.
  • Working with SME’s from peer organization to bring resolution to open issues in a timely fashion.
  • Partnering with application owners vendors and framework team to develop automation standards that can be utilized across the Network organization.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience using Python, Ansible, ROBOT Framework, Java, and Ruby programming languages.
  • Experience architecting network platforms and product PNF solutions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or the equivalent.
  • SDLC experience including system analysis, design, development, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Experience as a lead automation engineer managing large/ complex programs/ projects.
  • Experience developing automation solution using Python and Open source tools such as ROBOT Framework, Jenkins, Ansible GitLab, and GitLab CI.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jira/ Confluence/ Jenkins/ GIT/ ROBOT/ Selenium WebDriver.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end architecture, preferably iEN, Pubic IP, PIP or other transport network provisioning.
  • Development experience with major Telecom vendor products such as Juniper, Cisco, Ciena, F5.
  • Excellent teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills with ability to innovate and influence stake-holders.
  • Outstanding communication, analytical skills, and ability to function in a globally diversified work environment.
  • Understanding of Network protocols, and Remote Device management protocols.
