Job Description:

The Leidos Defense Group has a career opportunity for a DevOps Test Automation Engineer in Camp Hill, PA. The DevOps Test Automation Engineer will be responsible for the development, maintenance and execution of automated test cases. In this role, you will be working collaboratively with software developers and functional analysts to architect, design and develop automated tests based on existing test procedures as well as developing new automated test procedures. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best solutions based on customer needs and business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Creating automation test cases from manual test cases

  • Creating automated test suites that increase the frequency of integration and testing of our code and our environments from periodic to continuous

  • Creating test automation architecture to enable alternative test scopes for different parts of the system under test

  • Creating architecture to ensure test data is consistent between test cycles

  • Overseeing the maintenance of test suites to ensure confidence in automation

  • Evaluating production usage and bug data to properly align test automation efforts

  • Writing and running automated tests that validate performance across the entire application stack (code, database, storage, network, virtualization, etc.)

  • Integrating non-functional requirements into our test suite (availability, scalability, capacity, security, etc.)

  • Evaluating new test tools, technologies, and processes to improve test automation efficiency and system quality

  • Meeting with development teams to elevate automated testing practices across the entire organization

  • Leading, guiding and mentoring less experienced staff on test automation

  • Performing other related duties as assigned or appropriate

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a government security clearance.

  • Bachelors’ Degree in computer science or related engineering field of study and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience in software development, quality assurance, and test automation or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in maintaining a test automation framework for Microsoft web applications using Telerik TestStudio, Selenium, Smartbear TestComplete, or other automation testing tools

  • Extensive knowledge of agile methodologies and know how to manage development using Microsoft Azure DevOps (formerly Team Foundation Server).
