Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to work in the Digital Technology Team. You will work as part of a team to design and develop high-quality software solutions for web applications and mobile apps using React. As a Full Stack developer, you will implement new features and maintain existing code using Java/React and other standard tools in the Verizon ecosystem. Your duties will include designing software solutions to meet project requirements, maintaining and refactoring existing code, writing tests, and fixing bugs. As a React.js developer you'll work on everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications using cutting-edge frameworks to back-end Java-based systems using the latest techniques. The ideal candidate will bring some baseline experience but an immense passion to learn new and traditional technologies such as Java, AngularJS, React, relational databases, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure.

  • Developing new complex mobile applications from top to bottom (user interface design, application design, implementation, unit and functional testing, deployment to customers).
  • Implementing new features in existing mobile applications.
  • Communicating with product stakeholders, senior developers, and cross-functional teams in the organization to complete the projects on time and to the highest quality standards.
  • Participating in peer code reviews, and manage criteria applied during code reviews.
  • Investigating technical issues during the full development lifecycle.
  • Assessing feasibility, and difficulty, and providing time estimates on implementing new features to an application.
  • Reviewing third party applications and recommend the best in the market to our business partners.
  • Coaching and developing team members to increase the team’s bench strength and flexibility.
  • Translating business requirements into applications by implementing the best strategy to ensure the design meets performance, usability, reliability, and scalability standards.
  • Contributing to the high performance of the agile-development lifecycle by ensuring productive, and successful sprints by working to reduce blocking issues for the team.

Where you’ll be working…

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
  • Experience in RDBMS, writing SQL to perform CRUD (Postgres).
  • Knowledge of Design Patterns in coding and Cloud Architecture in DevOps.
  • Experience in writing code using Java Springboot.
  • Knowledge of Telecom domain, products, understanding of the network components, topologies, devices, etc.
  • Knowledge of Network Engineering / Field Operations domains.
  • Experience in emerging technology – AI/ML, Chabot, cloud.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, ReactJS, CSS, JQuery, DOM, HTML, Webpack, Enzyme, Redux, and Flux.
  • Experience in UI design and Implementation.
  • Knowledge of using analytical tools like Splunk, kibana, containers using AWS EKS and Docker and network cache using Redis.
  • Experience in build and release management.
  • Knowledge of network frameworks as well as third parties.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
