Enterprise Information Security is looking for an energetic, creative, and savvy Senior User Experience Designer with creativity and eye for design - along with technical knowledge - to develop delightful experiences with functional and appealing features to meet our customer’s needs. As Senior UX/UI Designer at ESI Optum, you will collaborate with a Principal UX Lead, product manager, and our development team to design products and engage in continuous user research, analysis and UX methodologies. Together you’ll deliver UI mockups, prototypes, MVPs and final products as well as translate user needs, patterns, information architecture, process flows, and other design inputs into easy-to-use and aesthetically beautiful solutions. In this role, you’ll have the privilege of being the voice of our customers and will have direct impact on the user-experience of our product.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, evangelize and execute the creative/UX strategy for EIS products and services
  • Lead teams in all aspects of the design delivery: strategic definition, concepting, prototyping, detailed UX/UI, research participation, documenting and testing of experience balancing user research/needs with business objectives/challenges
  • Build low to high fidelity prototypes of interaction, animations or transitions
  • Translate abstract concepts and problems into simple, elegant, and innovative designs expressed in sketches, diagrams, and rapid prototypes for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
  • Advocate for innovative, consumer-centric and consistent experiences through the prototypes designed
  • Have a deep understanding of our products within the many channels we influence; and see how they fit together to create the best experience for our customers
  • Work collaboratively with product teams and engineering to create modern products
  • Ability to seek, analyze, apply and advocate based on user data, analytics and requirements
  • Develop and provide successful strategic and tactical design recommendations based on technical feasibility, usability findings, standard design practices, and user data
  • Work collaboratively with development and accessibility teams to understand constraints and
  • identify opportunities to modernize our product design
  • Willingness to constructively challenge current thinking across the enterprise, pushing boundaries and driving change that will deliver exceptional user-centric experiences
  • Make data driven decisions to inform overall products, design, and experiences

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in digital consumer product design field
  • Solid digital experience with command of usability and design principles (including Human Centered Design) plus digital channel/product best practices
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, Miro, among others)
  • Portfolio demonstrating cross-channel expertise and skill in creating user-centric digital experiences
  • Ability to conduct and lead user research and turn that research into strong design decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Information Architecture, Communications, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience designing enterprise software, B2B applications or large employee-facing systems and medical or healthcare domains
  • Key stroke level modeling experience
  • Knowledge of UX-related analytics, metrics, and measurement techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences at various levels of the organization

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
