The BT (Business Technology) Strategic Execution Lead will manage major BT Strategic Execution initiatives and ensure they are properly planned, resourced, and executed upon to drive desired outcomes.


This role has responsibility for developing and driving initiatives that support Organon’s journey in creating digital solutions to better serve customers and enhance existing solutions. BT Strategic Execution lead will have Agile coach(es) and a Tool analyst under their purview and will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and BT leadership to identify areas which have opportunity for efficiencies and/or incremental value creation. The focus of BT Strategic Execution will be to drive new ways of working and develop operational capabilities (tech & people) that create efficiencies within BT and drive value for the organization.

Primary Activities
The BT Strategic Execution Lead will collaborate with leadership to develop strategic change objectives, plans, and forums that will inform which changes should occur when and what the measure of success will be. BT Strategic Execution will also partner with strategic vendors and Communications to develop appropriate messaging, execute these initiatives, and report progress to the strategic execution forum and leadership.

  • Manage and plan BT’s entire Strategic Execution portfolio in collaboration with BT Leadership Team and Function leadership (when applicable)
  • Create actionable deliverables for the core change mgmt. plans: Creation of “strategic execution forum”, identification of champions, upskilling requirements, and standardization of processes.
  • Own and drive Execution Coalitions as applicable by the functional area through identifying appropriate experts and change agents across the org to collaborate with and drive execution.
  • Work with broader BT and Functions to understand internal/ external landscape and identify new initiatives and/or pivot ones in-flight to ensure BT is proactively positioning itself for success.
  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics across transformation initiatives.
  • Lead Agile coaches by consulting BT teams on new processes and ways of working to drive coaching curriculum.
  • Partner with Communications to co-develop and execute on messaging and awareness drivers for all transformation initiatives.
  • Keep pulse of processes across BT operations through consistent interactions with area leads to identify opportunity areas, develop improvement plans, drive awareness, provide coaching, and document SOPs.
  • Drive agile tooling standardization throughout BT from tool selection, implementation & roll out, managing feature improvements, and facilitating trainings with Agile coaching.
  • Support organizational design changes and definition of roles and responsibilities.
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors' degree

Required:

  • Experience leading a department or organization-wide IT Operating Model Transformation, introducing new ways of working (preferably an organizational pivot to agile)
  • Experience working in agile and product management– well versed in agile frameworks (specifically Scrum and SAFe)
  • Experience leading / implementing agile tools for a digital / technology organization (e.g. Agile Planning, DevOps, & Testing tools), preferably as the Functional or Product Owner for these capabilities
  • Experience as an organization-wide change agent - an excellent communicator who is skilled at generating enthusiasm amongst colleagues to embrace change
  • Experience working with both executive-level and staff resources, with demonstrated abilities to influence and motivate different audiences

Preferred:

  • PMP Certification, Agile Training/Certification - e.g. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent; Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent; SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or equivalent; SAFe Program Consultant Trainer (SPCT) or equivalent
  • Experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE)
