Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Director, Global Technology Energy Systems to join our team. This role will be located at our Golden, CO location and collocated with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.Reporting to the leader of the Eaton Research Labs (ERL), the Director, Energy Systems is responsible for leading a global team of scientists and engineers and providing strategic direction in the field of Integrated Energy Management (including smart grids, microgrids, distributed generation and energy storage, renewable energy, and grid intelligence). This position builds strategic relationships with external customers and internal and external ecosystems to develop and implement technology and commercial strategies and translate them into solutions across various applications and markets.As the technology needs of the company are converging around electrification and energy transition, sustainability, and connectivity and intelligence, this position will drive the ERL leaders vision of the technology direction and strategy for the Eaton Research Labs with a focus on new product and next generation product development.The role partners closely with leadership at both the group and sector levels within technology and operations. This role will be a critical champion in driving the Energy Management teams technology advancements across the company. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this role you will:+ Influence technology and business leaders with respect to energy management technology vision, and the appropriate agenda and plans for implementation.+ Direct the development of advanced technology projects and relevant commercial applications based on early stage technologies. Collaborate with Program Managers in the development of detailed project plans. Lead globally diverse cross-functional project teams effectively and manage projects under the guidelines of our internal agile and stage-gated processes+ Develop global strategies for technology roadmaps that are linked to and supportive of the overall ERL and business strategies. Create vision for the energy management team to drive these strategies to realization+ Manage relationships internally and externally to ensure to ensure smooth introduction of new technologies, products, and solutions, ensure customer satisfaction and manage scope appropriately.+ Create a performance-based culture encouraging the innovation team to develop measurable goals and objectives that support the ERL strategies+ Stay abreast of project and technology patent and intellectual property management processes.+ Drive a high-performance workforce attract, coach, mentor, and facilitate growth of strong leaders within the organization and share ownership in developing future talent pipeline.Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $174,720 - $240,240 a year. This role is also eligible for a long-term incentive opportunity consistent with those who are at a similar level of responsibility within the Company. QualificationsBasic Qualifications:+ Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.+ Minimum of 7 years engineering experience in power distribution systems, smart grids and microgrids, distributed generation or energy storage+ Minimum of 7 years experience in applied research, new product development or program management+ Minimum of 3 years experience as a formal manager of people+ Must be legally eligible to work in the United States on an on-going basis without Company sponsorshipPreferred Qualifications+ Masters degree or PhD in electrical/electronic engineering, industrial engineering, or innovation management from an accredited institution.Position Criteria+ Proven ability to stimulate new product development and process improvement while fostering a culture of learning.+ A strong leader with a demonstrated track record of articulating and communicating a forward-thinking vision of technology in a pragmatic manner.+ Experience and success operating within a large global matrixed organization.+ Drive, intelligence, and high expectations for self and team.+ Experience working and living outside of the United States would be viewed favorably.We make what matters work.
