What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Wireless’ Wholesale Emerging Technology team identifies winning strategic opportunities and leads the development of an ecosystem to generate new revenue growth andprobability. As a key function, the team will drive recommendations, strategic alignment, and internal collaboration across Verizon with a focus on developing and growing 5G and cloud-based services, including MEC (Multiple-Access Edge Computing) Systems, PaaS (Platform as a Service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), and NaaS (Network as a Service) Platforms.

Reporting to the VP of Wholesale, the Director will be responsible for driving our engagement and structure. This position will be focused on Private MEC and NaaS to support subscriber experience, support device and SIM management, driving new select opportunities across the partner ecosystem, project management, and internal and external collaboration with key stakeholders to cultivate and drive deals to closure. The Director will partner with the business partners on build, support, and pricing model development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategically leveraging research and analytics to understand market dynamics, trends, size, segmentation, competitive landscape, etc.
  • Creatively modeling business cases and scenarios for brand new use cases
  • Collaborating closely with Network and Technology and Business Units to enhance the 5G Ecosystem strategy and define new opportunities
  • Communicating and generating support for recommendations within the Strategy team and across the broader organization.
  • Creating an alliance strategy
    • Understanding Wholesale’s business mission, vision, strategy, and goals
    • Determining where and how learning will impact the achievement of business goals
    • Documenting the learning and development plans
    • Validating the alignment of the learning and development with the business plan
  • Manage external communications, processes, and delivery of
    • Network Roadmap
    • Product Roadmap
    • Device Roadmap…
    • Roaming partner updates
  • Value-added services life cycle management, including
    • Product or Service evolution of enabler or white-labeled solution…

What we’re looking for...

You are a self-starter, creative and innovative thinker. You are professionally polished with sound business acumen, deep financial knowledge, and excellent research and analytical skills. Talking to people comes very naturally to you, and you have an ability to communicate and present complex information in a way that people understand – whether verbal or written. You have experience in collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders to get results across multiple groups and functional teams. You have strong analytical skills balanced with soft skills such as listening and observing while communicating in a meaningful way.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience in Technology, Strategy, Operations, and/or relevant work experience; Business Development leader who has a proven track record on partner engagements
  • Experience managing and building teams in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organization and project management skills; experience working with complex projects required
  • Experience communicating and working with executive level stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Proven ability to manage issues through to resolution
  • Detail oriented style; excellent oral and written communication skills
