Technology Zone Level 1 System management Specialist (Support)

As a Systems Management Specialist, you will work with the latest software to keep moving business forward. Whether it’s our Engineering teams that need a test environment or our software running in production, we are seeking skilled systems management professionals ready for the challenge.
Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Technology Zone is the single destination for our go-to-market teams and Business Partner ecosystem to easily build technical ‘Show Me’ live environments, POTs, prototypes, and MVPs, which can then be customized, shared with peers and clients to experience IBM Technology. The Level 1 Systems Management Specialist role is primarily focused on triaging and providing technical support of the IBM Technology Zone portal, content, and infrastructure, inclusive of IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, AIX, Red Hat OpenShift, and VMware. The Level 1 Systems Management Specialist is a great entry level role that will give you expansive knowledge across the IBM Technology portfolio.
The Level 1 Systems Management Specialist will participate in some or all of the following:
Work Tues-Sat with Sun/Mon off or Sun -Thurs with Fri/Sat off
Work on call rotations on average of one weekend per month
Manage tickets in Salesforce and Slack while aligning to documented Service Level Agreements
Utilize Slack escalation channels to ‘swarm’ with Level 2 and 3 technical experts when resolution is required for complex support inquiries
Create Runbooks in GitHub to promote self-service troubleshooting and feed the support chatbot
Complete special projects as assigned
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Hybrid Cloud training or knowledge
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Proven problem-management & multi-tasking skills
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Knowledge of Linux, Windows, Red Hat OpenShift & Networking infrastructures
Knowledge of Automation languages (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Go, etc.)
Knowledge or experience with Systems Administration
Knowledge or experience using GitHub

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
