Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Global Power Electronics Technology Manager to join our team. This position is based in Menomonee Falls, WI.The Global Technology Manager will be responsible for managing a team of scientists & engineers specializing in various technology areas that are part of the Power Electronics group within Eaton Research Labs. The principal goal includes the execution of the technology roadmaps and portfolio as it relates to North America region, including meeting the schedule, scope, cost and technical targets for all research and development efforts under his/her control, as well as developing and managing customer relationships with Eaton stakeholders and maintaining a sound business case for the projects under their direction. The Technology Manager is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the external technical community and academia, and leveraging these partnerships for significant advancements in research in the area of power conversion and power systems as relevant for Eaton. In this role you will:+ Champion technology realization programs utilizing our internal project execution processes, including Gate Reviews, Design Reviews, and Technical Reviews.+ Direct the development of advanced technology projects, monitor achievements, collaborate with Program Managers in the development of detailed project plans, lead globally diverse cross-functional project teams effectively and manage selected projects under the guidelines of our internal stage-gate process.+ Monitor and report overall performance of responsible projects and deliver periodic Project Status Reports, Quarterly Reports and other reports using specified reporting processes.+ Define, acquire, and upgrade as necessary lab/experimental infrastructure necessary to execute the projects through capital appropriation requests.+ Implement policies and procedures on various functional specializations, such as EHS, finance, HR, corporate, and facilities related.+ Foster an environment for creativity while promoting the generation of value added intellectual property and maintain and defend existing patents that cover the technology needs of the businesses.+ Lead and develop employees and facilitate global communication and cooperation between locations. QualificationsBasic Qualifications:+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution+ Minimum of 7 years industrial or entrepreneurial experience+ Must be legally eligible to work in the United States on an on-going basis without Company sponsorship+ This position requires the use of information or access to technology which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR/EAR. ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred Qualifications+ Masters of Science degree in power electronics and/or electrification of transportation from an accredited institution+ PhD in power electronics and/or electrification of transportation from an accredited institution+ 5-7 years in low and medium voltage power conversion and power electronics engineering, including creating specifications, defining application space, designing technical solution concepts, and building and testing prototypes to validate models/hypotheses+ 2-3 years experience managing a team Position Criteria+ Demonstrated expertise in the following areas: Power Electronics for Electrical Vehicles charging; high-power density electronics; energy storage; alternative power generation and distribution; power systems and electric machine controls; EV converters and traction drives and more electric aircraft+ Program management capability in new product development with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organizations+ Business acumen with proven record of formulating value proposition+ Excellent English communication and presentation skills (oral and written)We make what matters work.
