Job Description:

The primary focus of this role is the delivery of the IT Global Product Development & Supply portfolio. This position is responsible for the planning and execution of programs and projects supporting IT for the Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) function, reporting to the Director, IT for GPS Portfolio Governance & Delivery. This job will require orchestrating efforts across a broad set of stakeholders and sponsors ensuring commitments are met with the right sense of urgency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with IT leadership to develop & maintain the IT strategic plan providing insights from existing portfolio and resource availability/ utilization
  • Responsible for project Intake and project management staffing
  • Leads through managers and/or expert-level individual contributors in executing projects and programs in support of IT and Business strategy
  • Build and manage integrated program plans and execute them such that they can accommodate evolving ideas and discovery of new requirements while ensuring spend is within the approved budget.
  • Oversee progress, understand dependencies, evaluate risks and communicate status to appropriate levels of management and project/program stakeholders across GDD initiatives
  • Provides timely and actionable insights from Portfolio Mgmt. operations including budgeting, financial reconciliation, vendor management and procurement.
  • Proactively remove obstacles to drive project/program momentum and progress. Engage and energize the program teams.
  • Ensure the development of strategic resource planning necessary for successful completion of projects and programs.
  • Evaluate project and program performance periodically with key performance indicators and develop action plans to achieve performance goals.
  • Maintain sufficient domain knowledge and facility with the business strategies to ensure maximum value realization.
  • Interact with other portfolio and program leads, as well as portfolio governance to provide quality and consistent reporting.
  • Advise and consistently apply Portfolio Management tools, techniques, processes, and guidelines
  • Provide input to SDLC methods, tailoring policies and project control mechanisms
  • Responsibilities for managing and developing workforce.
  • Advise and consistently strive for excellence through application of industry best practices (including Agile, SDLC, PMF) and contribute to continuous improvement in close partnership with other IT functions

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry preferably in Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) and Cell Therapy functional areas.
  • Experience with GPS related platforms and adjacent tools such as MES, SAP, Veeva Vault, LIMS, Mfg. Automation Systems as well as collaboration technologies
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, life science or related field.
  • Proven track-record of managing a portfolio of large and/or complex IT programs, preferably in the Life Sciences domain. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and programs.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry and an understanding of drug development and manufacturing preferred.
  • Proven ability to apply depth of expertise across multiple related disciplines and integration points with other functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the scope and direction of initiatives across multiple levels of management and organizational boundaries
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and manage the expectations of divisional / functional leaders, clients, team members, management, and external groups
  • Resolving highly complex or unusual business problems, typically involving the innovation of new solutions
  • Applying broad industry and business expertise (e.g. trends, best practices) to drive financial and operational performance
  • Must have knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and have working knowledge of the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Knowledge and experience of computer systems validation is preferred.
  • Experience with software development methodologies and requirements gathering techniques such as Agile (Scrum, AUP, SAFe etc.) and Waterfall is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage, coach, and develop direct reports
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate with employees and management at all levels
