To accelerate our ability to serve patients around the world, we must unleash the power of technology.  We are committed to being at the forefront of transforming the way medicine is made and delivered by harnessing the power of computer and data science, artificial intelligence, and other technologies to promote scientific discovery, faster decision making, and enhanced patient care.   The Associate Director Asset Management IT Systems is a highly skilled and experienced professional for configuring and implementing IBM Maximo, an enterprise asset management software, who has extensive functional and technical expertise with the application. The Associate Director will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions to meet those needs. This role will also ensure that roadmaps are developed to align future IT capabilities with industry direction and business needs. This Associate Director will also be responsible for large-scale implementations, ensuring that the software is deployed and configured to support the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements into IBM Maximo solutions to meet needs of business stakeholders
  • Serve as functional and technical Maximo subject matter expert in the use of IBM Maximo
  • Lead large scale IBM Maximo Implementations and teams including oversight of 3rd party integrators to ensure successful delivery while meeting business and IT requirements
  • Serve as liason between IT team and business stakeholders
  • Provide guidance on proper use of IBM Maximo and troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the software.
  • Provide training and support to other team members and the Maximo community
  • Ensure integrations to other applications are robust and aligned to business requirements
  • Stay up-to-date with latest developments in IBM Maximo and related technologies
  • Develop IT roadmaps to ensure IT capabilities are aligned with future internal and external changes

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Requires advanced knowledge of work outside own function and deep expertise in own functions, typically gained through a university degree and 8-10 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years experience with deep functional and technical expertise in IBM Maximo, preferably in a Life Sciences industry.
  • Strong understanding of asset management business processes and how IBM Maximo can be configured to support. A detailed understanding of out-of-the-box functional capabilities is required with prior experience working with business stakeholders to adopt standard functionality rather than customize.
  • Proven record of success leading large scale Maximo project/implementations.
  • Must have knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and of computer systems validation (CSV)  and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Works independently to achieve pre-determined goals and objectives.
  • Recommends course of action to achieve results. Responsible for the direct management of an implementation team including results/outcomes, coaching.
  • Leads a team/functional group to solve problems/create deliverables; structures the work of the team for maximum efficiency and manages to completion.
  • Lead business partner (client relationship manager) with business stakeholders. Accountable for successful management of a team delivering key projects or processes.
  • Occasionally influences at the senior leadership level. May need to persuade leaders to adopt a differing point of view. Maintains composure in the face of stressful situations or difficult conversations. Ensures project completion on time; manages key stakeholders.
  • Creates and communicates work product that clearly conveys project status or problem and proposed resolution including solution and courses of action.
  • Influences internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational decisions and business requirements have a positive impact on the function and BMS. Directs external vendors tactically, providing some strategic input to vendors on services delivered. Recommends pursuing actions based on impact on people, technology, structure, and/or workflow.
  • Initiates challenging opportunities that build strong capabilities for self and team.  Develops and implements proactive approaches to new technologies and processes.
  • Leads complex initiatives related to continuous improvement or development of new approaches/technologies within or across functions or departments. Takes necessary risks to test and advance innovative processes and approaches.
  • Critically evaluates and interprets current trends. Contributes to vision for functional / regional / departmental strategy
  • Synthesizes the data and analysis of team to find solutions to overall problem with consultation of functional leadership. Employs a broad knowledge base of technologies and approaches to solve complex and novel problems. Recommends course of action to achieve desired results.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
