What you’ll be doing...

The SDN Planning group under Global Network and Technology organization is looking for a self-motivated and innovative thinking Junior level Software Engineer in support of Verizon SDN technology design, development, and deployment.

• As a software engineer, you will help drive Verizon's next-generation networking technologies utilizing software engineering, data modeling and analytics, AI and machine learning.
• You will collaborate with Verizon internal teams, vendors, operators and the open-source communities to design, implement and deploy solutions supporting Verizon's 5G/4G and wireline networks.
• You will learn and build leadership skills to guide the vendor partners and the industry and build a sustainable technology ecosystem that is aligned with and can support Verizon's long-term strategy.

In this hybrid role, you will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.

Even better if you have:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline/experience.
• Familiarity with software engineering from school, internships, personal projects, or previous jobs.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages,such as C/C++, Golang, Java, and Python.
• Experience with data modeling and analytics, machine learning, Google Cloud Platform, etc.
• Good knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
• Creative problem-solving skills and strong learningcapabilities.
• Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
