The Civil Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Lead Buyer to work in our North Charleston, SC facility. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) mission. The lead buyer will oversee a team of buyers working with manufacturing and engineering teams in support of our Aviation product lines.

The Challenge:

  • Supplier sourcing and negotiations, procurement of goods in support of MRP generated or direct contract requirements

  • Follow direct adherence of procurement procedures and policies.

  • Support product lifecycle activities

  • Assist with product development by defining material needed, providing drawings when appropriate.

  • General knowledge of documentation, drawings, datasheets, solid models in support of quotations

  • Terms and conditions review for regulatory compliance, applicable flow downs and risk management assessments.

  • Supports and reviews the work of Team Buyers

  • Focus on development and training of staff.

  • Support internal/external audit activities, including Purchase Order file reviews.

  • Liaison between supply base and internal customers; establish and maintain meaningful relationships with strategic suppliers.

Purchase execution to include:

  • Obtain quotations.

  • Place POs and maintain compliant purchase order files.

  • Conduct supplier cost management, competition, and price analysis.

  • Manage schedule of product to meet demand.

  • Manage order closeout reconciliation of goods receipts and invoices as required.

  • Process non-conformances and vendor returns.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years or prior relevant experience or master’s with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • MRP experience

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Actively engaging in team environment supporting team and organizations goals

  • Great organization skills and attention to detail

  • Positive attitude and a willingness to progress into tasks of greater responsibility.

  • CostPoint Experience

  • Experience managing a team.

  • Experience negotiating term &conditions.

  • Experience interpreting technical document, drawings, and/or schematics for quotation purposes.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $75,400.00 - $116,000.00 - $156,600.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
