Eaton’s ES AMER HQ MFGSC division is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Lead Tech.

The hourly rate for this position is $35/hr per hour.

Position Overview:

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of systems using PLC, electrical, mechanical, and processing skills. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all production equipment.

The Lead Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs the following systems: PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD Drives, Vision Systems, Motor Control Centers, Power Distribution Centers, Motors (DC, AC, Stepper, Servo, etc.), Three Phase/Single Phase - power and control circuits, Control Panel layout and component installation. Additional duties as assigned by supervision.

You will be responsible for Installing and repairing electrical systems, and all components while following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using appropriate tools. You will troubleshoot AC & DC drives, instrumentation, transducers, and hydraulic/pneumatic controls, as well as PLC and tension controllers. You will work with computer-controlled systems and Assist and train production employees.

In this function you will:

• Read, write, interpret, and present documents and reports such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.

• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to read technical manuals and to size and monitor motors, motor controllers and other electrical equipment.

• Install and repair circuitry according to the National Electrical code.

• Perform preventative maintenance and identify and correct defects in the machinery to prevent downtime.

• Understand complicated drawings, specifications, and blueprints and use a wide variety of measuring instruments.

• Stand, walk, sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Construct and alter physical facilities to accommodate changes or improvements.

• Identify and source parts, supplies and repair items as necessary.

• Setup and operate multiple machines.

• May perform welding tasks.

• Assist other technicians and leadership of project teams.

• Troubleshoot and analyze complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems.

• Utilize predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data. Observes trends and makes recommendations to improve equipment reliability.

• Perform electrical power work in accordance with MESH 8.0 LOTO procedures.

• Follow all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

• Flex personal schedule to cover required tasks on and off shifts.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Associate degree Electrical/Electronic Engineering

• A minimum of 2 years of PLC (programmable logic controller) troubleshooting or programming experience

• A minimum of 5 years electrical experience and 2 years of manufacturing experience

• Background in metal working and welding machines.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship on an ongoing basis.

• No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Duncan, SC to be considered.

• Must have valid Driver’s License.

• Knowledge of operating lift truck, material handling equipment, man lifts and hand tools

Skills:

Preferred Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of Maintenance Technician experience within a manufacturing / warehouse environment.

• Experience in vibration analysis or laser interferometer operations, precision alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.

• Experience with PLCs and AC/DC drives is preferred.

• Journeyman License
