Leidos has an opening for a Network Administrator for the Air Force Cryptologic Office at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Responsible for Commercial network and systems, including Wireless network and devices. To include design, maintenance, and sustainment of these networks.
Verifies and ensures all multiple network systems are being monitored and are in compliance with the latest governance and best practices.
Coordinate with internal and external teams, stakeholders, and sometimes vendors regarding design, process, and approaches to ensure all network systems are up-to-date, working efficiently, and ensuring all mission requirements are met.
Responsible for providing documentation, configurations, and diagrams; and employing technical solutions, principles, and concepts in performing any physical patching and software (CISCO IOS) patching.
Coordinate any service interruptions with the affected customer base and make reports and respond to any reported services interruptions.
Perform configuration of network devices IAW all applicable requirements to maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) DoD, AFI, CJCSI, JER, industry best practices, and standards.
Act as the resident network subject matter expert, respond to network issues and provide training for military technicians to provide a robust and responsive maintenance cell.
Provide fault isolation on all aspects of the commercial network
Provide network administration and technical support
Research, identify and resolve any technical issues of wireless communication systems. This includes troubleshooting hardware, software, and electronic problems.
Obtain, vet, design, and implement any new customer requirements following established processes.
Review Information Assurances Vulnerability Alerts/Bulletins (IAVA/B) related to CISCO products and develop and implement remediation plans.
Develop technical refresh plans for the commercial network as required
Provide cost estimates and implementation plans to CFE Branch Chief for review, approval, and acquisition.
Recommend changes to the government for improvement in the operating and security environment for government consideration and approval.
Develop and provide Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for routine and non-routine procedures that assist local military technicians and support customers operating and managing the commercial networks.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
BS degree and 5+ years’ experience in network administration, telecommunications, and cryptographic technologies. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Hands-on experience in configuring and fault isolation of CISCO devices using: EIGRP, BGP, SNMP, TCP/IP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, ARP, dot1Q, VLANs, VPN, GRE, IPSEC, subnetting, NAT, access control lists, and various other routing and networking protocols.
Proficiency in WiFi 5, WiFi 6 & Controller technology
Experience with LAN/WAN network technologies
CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Security+ certification.
