Amentum is seeking a Network Administrator supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) Global Solutions Management – Operations (GSM-O) program at Scott Air Force Base, IL (near O'Fallon, IL).

You will thrive in a fast-paced Network Operations Center (NOC) providing 24x7x365 support and incident management for the global DoD information network (DoDIN). You are self-motivated and driven to seek solutions to resolve monitoring errors, using research and documentation. You will use your understanding of network topologies (transport and IP) and network technologies to troubleshoot network performance issues and analyze network traffic. Your ability to communicate effectively in writing will result in clear and concise documentation on tickets within the ticketing management system (Remedy).

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot circuits using router commands, loops, alarms and errors, and other troubleshooting technologies and techniques.

  • Utilize network monitoring tools to monitor, track, and resolve issues.

  • Create and update tickets utilizing Remedy.

  • Troubleshoot networking technologies on a live, global network.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED

  • At least 3 year of overall work experience required, of which 1 year of experience must be working with networks

  • Must possess a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, and/or SSCP)

  • Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, and/or performance management

  • Expertise in one or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, and/or Optical Switching

  • Ability to support a 24/7/365 shift work operation

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience working with networks

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field
