Description

Job Description:

This position provides Network Administration Support to C5ISR Center Sustaining Base Network Assurance Branch (SBNAB) Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) Security Operations Center (SOC). The candidate is expected to provide ongoing network support, address availability issues, overcome performance problems and provide overall level 2 support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Designs, installs, maintains and coordinates the use of network systems.

  • Evaluates hardware and software and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks.

  • Manages network performance, diagnoses performance problems and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLR requirements.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.

  • Reports on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution.

  • Trains users, maintains, creates and deletes user accounts.

  • Maintains and updates system security plans on all platforms.

  • Implements and coordinates network policies, procedures and standards.

  • Enforces network security procedures.

  • Experienced with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles and theories.

  • Works under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.

  • A Network Administrator has experience in managing, monitoring and configuring the routine operations and maintenance of computer systems in a variety of different networks to include high volume/high availability systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience (4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree).

  • Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI, or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI, and SAP Eligibility

  • 3+ years’ experience working in a SOC environment

  • Must have experience responding and resolving problems quickly.

  • Must have the skills to implement agency policy regarding computer access and implement firewalls.

  • DoD 8570 IAT II certifications required prior to starting

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry accepted standards.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical understanding of core current cybersecurity technologies as well as emerging capabilities.

  • Demonstrated experience with researching and fielding new and innovative technology.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the life cycle of cybersecurity threats, attacks, attack vectors and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intrusion set tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs).

  • Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings.

  • Familiarity or experience in Intelligence Driven Defense, Cyber Kill Chain methodology, and/or MITRE ATT&CK framework.
