Network Analyst I/II-NOC

***This position can be filled remotely anywhere within the country.*** About the Role: The Network Analyst I/II-NOC position is within our Transport Network Operations (TNOC) team, which provides 24x7x365 support for the Windstream Transport core network. While in this role, you will be required to utilize basic troubleshooting knowledge of Transport Networks and equipment to quickly repair/mitigate outage conditions. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to drive issues to resolution. You will also be required to interface via phone, video, Microsoft Teams Chat, and ticketing systems with Windstream technicians, front-line technical reps, and Carrier technicians to resolve issues, mitigate outages, and ensure that all steps are professionally documented. What You'll Do: - Create Reason for Outages (RFOs) for outage events - Troubleshoot optical, DWDM, and ethernet issues in Windstream's Core Transport Network - Troubleshooting fiber optic issues in Windstream's fiber network by analyzing OTDR readings and fiber optical characterization test - You will be responsible for the coordination of all repairs that are related to issues that have been identified in Windstream's Transport Network. This will require that you work directly with Windstream Field Operations, Windstream Outside Plant Operations, Windstream Construction / Engineering, Windstream SSP (Single Source Providers), other Windstream NOC verticals, Windstream customer facing organizations, Windstream vendors, and other major telecommunication carriers / fiber providers. In some instances, you will be required to work directly with customers, so professionalism is key to your success. - Create Methods of Procedures (MOPs) for repair activities that will be required to take place during Windstream's allotted maintenance window. - Report to the Manager-Network Operations - These responsibilities listed above are the some of the main job requirements for a Network Analyst II-NOC, however they may change based on business needs. Do You Have? - Two years of experience with transport operations (network operations center, field network operations, outside fiber networks, central office transport networks, etc.) - Excellent time management skills - Strong communications and notation skills - Excellent collaboration skills - Proficiency with using a PC/computer - An understanding of WDM, DWDM, MPLS, REP, ERP's (8032), etc. - An understanding of transport alarm and testing methodology - Ability to work ANY SHIFT, including nights, weekends, and holidays Even Better: - 2-year degree in a technical discipline (engineering, physics, computer science, etc.) - Remote testing experience and knowledge of the following transport vendors and platforms: Infinera (ex. DTN-X, FlexILS, XT-500, XT-3312, XT-3624, G30 Groove, and 7100-Nano), Cisco Transport equipment (ex. Cisco 15454, Cisco 15600, and CISCO NCS4200), Ciena (Legacy CYAN Z-series, Ciena Waveserver AI, Ciena Waveserver 5, Ciena 6500 / 6500 RLS, and CN4200)) - Hands-on experience and knowledge of the following transport vendors and platforms: Infinera (ex. DTN-X, FlexILS, XT-500, XT-3312, XT-3624, G30 Groove, 7100-Nano, etc.), Cisco Transport equipment (ex.
