Job Description:

Leidos has an opening on the ESA V program for a Network Engineer. ESA V is an IT Services program supporting several customers within the Department of Justice. The program provides a range of IT services, including help desk, deskside support, Windows workstation engineering and maintenance, Windows Server, managed print services, ITSM, Active Directory services, and video conferencing, and all server and network infrastructure, among others.

The Network Engineer will be a part of our Network Operations team primarily responsible for engineering, developing, and maintaining LAN, VPN, VTC, and network security solutions support of end-user computing needs as well as server hosting for a variety of applications and enterprise services. The primary responsibility of the Network Engineer will be developing, engineering, and maintaining monitoring tools, VPN, RSA, and network security solutions.

Day to day tasks include:

  • Respond to alerts and trouble tickets, perform trouble-shooting tasks
  • Monitoring and management of network components; primarily VPNs and RSA servers, with potential support of firewalls, load balancers, and other network appliances.
  • Design, development, and implementation of new technologies and technology refresh projects; primarily for VPN, RSA, firewall, and load balancer solutions.
  • Managing, troubleshooting, and developing/implementing technical changes to network security technologies (BlueCat, DNS, reverse proxy, and other TIC tools)
  • Configuration and management of alerting and monitoring equipment (ScienceLogic and Cisco)
  • Occasional coverage of critical incident monitoring and escalation shifts. After training, this coverage is needed approximately once per month to backfill a team of dedicated staff operating 24x7 based on scheduled leave/availability conflicts.
  • Additional duties may involve project based work for the implementation of other network improvements and innovations

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4+ years of experience supporting enterprise networks. High school diploma with additional years experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience designing, implementing, administering, and troubleshooting RSA solutions
  • Experience designing, implementing, administering, and troubleshooting VPN solution (Cisco)
  • Extended hour and weekend support as required by mission or emergencies
  • Ability to work with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Candidate selected will be subject to a Government Public Trust security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to the customer’s information, prior to start date
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance
  • U.S. Citizen

Desired Qualifications:

  • DOJ or DOD Active Clearance
  • Support on a M-F second shift schedule in the US Eastern timezone (2:00pm – 10:00pm)
  • Familiarity/experience with ScienceLogic SL1, Fortigate firewalls, F5 load balancers, Proofpoint security appliances
  • Ability to apply user requirements to the analysis, planning, and design of technology systems.
  • Ability to communicate problems and solutions both verbally and in writing to the Government Lead.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency.
  • Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
  • Ability to interface with all customer levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with using ITSM for ticketing and change management (ServiceNow specifically)

The Network Operations team is currently operating 100% Remote, however a return to work on-site at a customer site in Washington, DC is possible. Telework or 100% Remote work arrangements as a part of any potential return to work plan are negotiable.

Pay Range:Pay Range $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 - $135,000.00
