What you’ll be doing...

The Network Transport Security Policy & Auditing (TSPA) team is seeking a Security Engineer to undertake Tier 1 and Tier 2 level activities related to the engineering, operations, and ongoing support for four key VGMN security functions: Firewall rule requests, ACL updates, Plan/Build/Run responsibilities for the Fortinet VPN infrastructure, Transport security audits

  • Using CRM and ticketing tools to provide professional guidance and assistance to internal customers.
  • Addressing incoming firewall, ACL, and VPN requests and provide customer troubleshooting and support as required.
  • Facilitating Fortinet hardware installation.
  • Turning up VPN and configuration changes.
  • Deploying Fortinet software updates.
  • Evaluating environments and their underlying transport security controls to ensure customer adherence to Verizon Network Security standards and policies.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or one of more years of work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Knowledge of wireless and wireline networks and interconnectivity between them.
  • Knowledge of Firewalls, Switches, and Networking.
  • Knowledge of Routing and Switching concepts and protocols.
  • Knowledge and understanding of transport security policies (firewall rules, ACLs, etc).
  • Customer focus mindset.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong communication Skill.
