What you'll be doing...

You will be supporting both Verizon Message Bus (VMB) and Sevone.

VMB is an Pulsar driven messaging bus connecting many mission critical fault and collection systems supporting the Verizon Network. Verizon Messaging Bus is an efficient, on-demand, user friendly Bus-as-a-Service to facilitate the exchange of data across network applications. key benefit drivers for VMB include centralized data availability, flexible integration, inbuilt data governance, simplified eco-system, quicker time-to-onboard & share producer data, reduced hardware cost and lower utilities cost.

Sevone simplifies the extraction and enrichment of metric, flow, and streaming telemetry data across multi-vendor networks enabling enterprises, carriers and managed services providers to ensure optimal network operations and performance

Research and experiment with new data streaming technolgy (Pulsar) to support business use cases, system stability, and improve the customer experience. Developing in-house expertise and best practices around the Pulsar technology, and providing ongoing support to product engineering teams. You will build and operate systems to ingest and serve data at scale in a 24/7 high-uptime production environments includes:

  • Reviewing and auditing code in multiple languages
  • Working on connectors and network groups to troubleshoot any issues
  • Contributes fixes and features to the Apache Pulsar project any helps identify issues with the core technology.
  • Ensures that the performance of the application is understood and can continue to handle the business needs as we scale the system up to larger data volumes and provide additional capabilities to the business.
  • Understanding of the VZ eco-system, including IDN/IT/EDN/AWS/VCP/IEN/ENSE/5G
  • Excellent communication skills and strong desire to work with customers (namely network engineers, network managers and server administrators)
  • Exhibit strong logical and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing, growth-oriented environment
  • Exhibit consistent detailed work product results and possess ability to independently see a project through to completion
  • Able to communicate technical information clearly and precisely to customers of varying technical knowledge levels

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Statistical software experience.
  • Experience with large scale IT systems.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or Economics.
  • Coding skills.
  • Experience working with the FAA preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance requirement upon hire.
