The ARIES INSCOM G6 contract is part of the Leidos Defense team provides IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, and engineering services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of Army Military Intelligence Enterprise IT Systems. We are looking for a Network Engineer to be part of the team and support the JMICS/C-JMICS systems at the Service Center, located at Ft. Bragg, NC.

Job Description
Network Engineer will work directly with INSCOM G6 and DIA Certifiers to obtain and maintain the JMICS Type Accreditation and/ or “Type ATO”. The Network Engineer will participate in network design, repair, maintenance and operations to ensure that the site’s information technology infrastructure is operating securely, reliably and efficiently. Through coordination with JMICS Systems Architect, Systems Engineer, Cyber Security Team, and Systems Administrators, the Network Engineer will ensure any changes to the JMICS network infrastructure are done in accordance to ICD-503 and DoD standards. You will monitor programs for vulnerabilities and work with the JMICS Engineering group to remediate or mitigate findings and work with JMICS Government PM and JMICS Engineering group to create and maintain all JMICS ATO documentation and system network documentation.

Primary Responsibilities
In this role, the Network Engineer will:

  • Support tactical network design, implantation, and operations to ensure system integrity for the JMICS program current and future modernization.

  • Provide network support with a variety of operating systems. Install, configure, and maintain computer network and provide network support to users.

  • Develop and monitor policies for the use of JMICS network resources.

  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up.

  • Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.

  • Create and maintain network users/permissions within JMICS infrastructure.

  • Work with the JMICS Cyber Security team to harden the JMICS Secure Baseline.

  • Serve as a member of the JMICS Configuration Management Board.


Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with eight + years of related Network Engineer experience. Additional training and/or years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Specific experience with the following:

  • Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts.

  • Proven network engineering, network operations, network administration, and network performance analysis skill.

  • Proficiency in network routing/switching security practices.

  • Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

  • Knowledge of computing infrastructures, familiarity with server management and monitoring tools

  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving ability.

  • Proficiency with scripting languages.

  • Certification and Accreditation Process, DISA STIGS, system vulnerability scanning software (ACAS\Nessus and SCC preferred), Securing and Configuring Windows Server 2012/2016 and Windows 10.

  • Active DoD 8750 IA certification at a minimum Network Level III up to Level IV: CCNA, or CCNP, SSCP certification.

  • Active DoD 8750 Computer Environment (CE) Certification relevant to the position: CompTIA Security+.

  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Baseline Creation and Scripting language.

  • Experience hardening and maintaining Windows10, Windows Server 2012/2016, VMWare (ESXi) and RedHat Enterprise Linux platforms.

  • Experience with PowerShell Scripting

  • Experience with Cisco networking devices (switches/routers)

  • The ability to create and develop policy and procedures IAW security controls

  • Understanding of security control overlays
