Leidos is seeking a Principal Network/Systems Engineer (PSE) on a mission-critical enterprise information technology contract. The candidate will be a lead, partnered with other technical leaders in other domain skillsets, including: service delivery and security operations center.

Primary Responsibilities include:

The PSE will serve as the engineer responsible for the Enterprise Watch Center (EOC) as well as provide systems engineering analysis for a variety of network related projects and act as the technical liaison for the program manager. The PSE will evaluate projects to determine fit with mission requirements, technical feasibility, capabilities, and project plans. The successful candidate will have a technical background in telecommunication networks and understand network architecture, protocols, and data flows. Additionally, a background in program or project management is required to evaluate project proposals and review program status during development. The PSE will identify to the government program manager the strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in the project proposals and provide recommendations to overcome potential issues. Stays abreast of and researches emerging technologies and market trends in order to develop whitepapers for future mission requirements.

Work is performed at the government location in downtown Washington, DC. Team is geographically dispersed, but mainly at the Washington, DC location with the customer.

Basic Qualifications:

  • The candidate shall have demonstrated capabilities to analyze highly complex technical issues, recommend plans of action for staff (including both contractor and government personnel), and manage teams supporting resolution of these issues.

  • Experience with multi-cloud platforms (Amazon Web services (AWS), Azure)

  • Experience with Windows and Linux

  • Experience with System (hardware, software and networking) Design and Architecture.

  • Experience providing analysis, root cause diagnosis, and troubleshooting various system and networking components

  • Understanding of agile SW development methodologies

  • Experience developing a backlog and technical roadmap

  • Experience as a scrum master, product owner, systems engineer or architect

  • Experience in providing direct assistance to users

  • Strong analytic abilities and detail oriented

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to brief stakeholders at all levels

  • Committed to implementing, adopting, and adhering to best practices

  • Cisco Network Associate certification

  • 8+ years of enterprise network performance engineering experience required, in enterprise WAN networks

  • 8+ years in software-defined networks

  • 4+ years in network programmability using APIs

  • 8+ years overall network management systems administration and programming experience

  • Must be US Citizen.

  • No clearance required.

  • Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
