More About the Role:
Leidos is seeking a Network Management Engineer to support related efforts for SMIT, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT), Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The successful candidate will support planning, designing, and evaluating various tools and data support for the NMCI network.

What You'll Get to Do:
The Network Management Engineer will evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance current capabilities, as well as perform needs assessments.

Other duties include:
•Evaluate tools/software during transition phase to determine transition needs/artifacts/plans.
•Participate in the planning of tool upgrades, replacement, configuration, and maintenance.
•Engineer solutions that provide secure, effective and efficient operation of systems, architecture, and topology for tools and data.
•Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
•Analyze, evaluate, and plan methods of approach to provide solutions.
•Lead analysis, review, and validation with customers, stakeholders, and team members for NMCI projects and changes related to tools and data.
•Organize the means to achieve solutions to highly complex technical problems.
•Significant collaboration and coordination with external customers, management, subcontractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines.
•Comply with ITSM processes and procedures.
•Comply with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) governance and use MBSE tools.
•Comply with Cybersecurity requirements within the DoDI 8500.01 and DON 5239.
•Collaborate with technical experts to synthesize solutions related to tools and data.
•Develop and maintain processes, checklists, and procedures for tools and data.
•Mentor and review the work of junior team members.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
-Requires B.S. Degree and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience.
•Eight (8) or more years’ experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
•Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to qualify for a Secret clearance to start the program.
•Hands-on experience in working with DoD networks.
•Ability to multi-task, self-assign work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
•Motivated self-starter with ability to lead and work in a matrix organization and communicate effectively with peers, subordinates and program leadership.
•Strong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadership.
•Technical knowledge and skills in the following areas: tool evaluation and analysis, tool configuration, tool login/authentication/authorization.
•Experience working in large information technology enterprise environments.
•Experience in collaborating with other enterprise technologists both internal and external to resolve complex technical issues.
•Travel may be required.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Experience working on DoD programs, specifically Navy programs.
•Experience developing SE artifacts in multiple systems development paradigms and methodologies.
•Certifications:
-INCOSE CSEP
-Security+
-ITIL

Pay Range:

Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00
