The Defense Group at Leidos is seeking an entry-level Quality Engineer at our Chesapeake office to join our team in the Logistics and Mission Support Operation. The Integrated Logistics Center PEO IWS 5 program is located in our ISO certified facility. This position in the Quality Engineering Department Program provides quality assurance, control, inspection, root cause analysis, measurement analysis and continuous improvements in support of the NAVSEA SONAR SQQ-89 A(V)15 and SPAWAR C4ISR installation programs.

Responsibilities – What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Works as a member of the Mission Assurance team and works with project technicians, engineers, and managers to develop and implement QA surveillance and prevention approaches.

  • Conduct quality inspections of project deliverables and support performance verification testing, as needed.

  • Collect and report key process indicator measurements and progress toward meeting quality objectives. Key process indicators include on-time delivery, supplier ratings, receiving inspection first pass yield, and work order first pass yield.

  • Execute timely quality audits in adherence with the program audit schedules and in compliance with Leidos policies and direction, report audit results to program leadership.

  • Generate corrective action requests for audit findings and maintain the Common Audit Database (CAD) with timely updates/closures of audit findings.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for issues and findings that require corrective actions to identify potential system improvements.

  • Monitor and assure the requirements in the contract, SOW, task orders, and installation drawings are in accordance with the applicable military, commercial, OSHA, local standards for a quality product.

  • Prepare Quality Control Reports for each project site from start to finish. Input and maintain the report data in the applicable inspection system data base or documented information reporting format including gathering trend data

  • Understand and familiar with the logistics activities that involve quality assurance and control of the flow of goods, services and information between the point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements as well as ensure the execution and improvement of standard logistic processes such Engineering Changes, Engineering Change Order and development, Field Changes, Technical Documentation Development, Training Guide Development, Configuration Management, Maintenance Planning, Provisioning and Reproduction of Technical Content for installation systems.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education – To Land This Gig You’ll Need:

  • BS degree or equivalent experience (additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree).

  • Less than 2 years of experience.

  • Experience working with the following tools: SharePoint, MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Good verbal and written skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education – Favorable if you have:

  • Familiarity with hardware development lifecycle processes.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and CMMI Level 3 Quality Management Systems.

  • Experience in Shipboard/Submarine basic wiring and inspections of electrical/electronic equipment and connection boxes.

  • Experience with reading and understanding shipboard or submarine system drawings (i.e., electrical, structural, mechanical).

  • Visual TEMPEST Inspector.

  • Familiar/experience with NAVSEA requirements/standards.

Clearance Required:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $46,800.00 - $72,000.00 - $97,200.00
