Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst. This is a hybrid work opportunity and can be based at our Galesburg, MI or Southfield, MI locations.

The Senior Financial Analyst will act as a financial business partner for Vehicle Group North America Headquarters, for both Light Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle/Aftermarket organizations. This position will provide support to senior leaders and managers in all functional areas of the North America headquarters and act as the liaison for Eaton Global & North America Headquarters to the Eaton Cummins Joint Venture.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Work collaboratively with Senior Leaders and Managers in functions such as Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, HR, Selling, Call Center, Warranty and other headquarter functions to complete month-end closing, monthly forecast, and annual profit plan for the VGNA HQ budgets
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Eaton Headquarters to the Eaton Cummins Joint Venture by performing month-end closing and monthly forecast activities to execute the contractual agreement between the two entities.
  • Support the month-end closing by coordinating journal entries, cross-charge allocations, month-end accruals, commentary on variances and reporting for senior leaders.
  • Coordinate the monthly forecast and annual profit plan by working collaboratively with business leads to prepare their budgets and staffing plans.
  • Independently work to review budgets for consistency and completeness, analyze spending trends, prepare reporting, present financial performance, and lead action plans to address financial risk and opportunity.
  • Analyze key performance drivers to investigate spending variances. Perform root cause analysis to resolve problems. Interpret financial results and communicate opportunities for improvement to budget leads.
  • Act as business partner by providing financial, accounting, and compliance guidance to non-finance employees to help them navigate financial transactions such as supplier payments, invoicing, payroll, benefits, credit cards, and capital spending.
  • Work with financial leads in other countries to coordinate financial inputs and ensure global spending is accurately forecasted and recorded.
  • Design innovative financial tools to help business leads budget, forecast and manage their financial performance.
  • Works in a team environment to drive improvement in financial processes through tools/systems, automation, and standardization.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, and/or Business Administration from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two (2) years of accounting, finance and/or business analytics experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future
  • No relocation is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50 miles of Galesburg, MI or Southfield, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, Outlook, and TEAMS. Power BI experience
  • Experience with Oracle and Hyperion

Skills:

  • Attention to detail with strong analytical, decision making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to drive results, navigate ambiguous situations, and solve complex problems.
  • Must be able to work closely with all levels of management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with financial and non-financial colleagues.
