What you’ll be doing...

As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible to

• Lead multiple projects using on-site and off-shore resources to maintain and develop applications for both enterprise releases and smaller maintenance releases.
• Conduct impact analysis on production defects and being a part of the solution.
• Perform hands-on coding work on projects to introduce new modular, reusable Service/API or enhancing the existing ones
• Perform engineering tasks associated with the analysis, design, and development of computer hardware, firmware, embedded systems, and/or operating systems
• Potential Point of contact for IT Transformation efforts: SWISH, cloud migrations, DevSecOps.
• Use complex algorithms to develop systems & applications that deliver business functions or architectural components.
• Educate team members about integrating systems collaboratively and efficiently.Encrypt sensitive information to protect the database from corruption
• Reduce security threats with dependable andreliable security tools andsoftware applications
• Evaluate how security impacts the design anddevelopment process of reliable networks
• Encrypt sensitive information to protect the database from corruption.
• Test business processes/products across applications with an end-to-end process flow
• Assess how the competition differs from Verizon’s current state and update Verizon operations.
• Communicate the business value of technical solutions
• Manage onsite technical escalations of developers regarding code merge, promotions, escalations for lack of inputs from other teams and resolve technical challenges with innovative solutions

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience working with Service Oriented Architecture implementations or Web Services.
• Experience with OOP, SOA, modular code development.
• Experience with micro services, design pattern, multi-threading.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Experience working on designing and architecting IT solutions
• Experience working with Service Oriented Architecture implementations or Web Services.
• Working experience with OOP, SOA, modular code development, micro services, design pattern, multi-threading
• Working experience with GIT/Stash, Jenkins, continuous integration,Kafka,Kibana,Kubernetes
• Experience with Tomcat, Camel, Spring, Groovy, Spring Framework, Databases, RabbitMQ,IBM MQ,,Camunda modeler
• Experience with Security, Fortify/Web Scans, 3rd party open source libraries
• Experience with Test Driven Development/Test cases and jUnit
• Experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation
• Teamwork and collaboration skills to work across organizations and lead cross-functional teams
• Communication andstakeholder management skills
• Problem solving skills to develop quick yet sound solutions to resolve complex issues.
• Experience and willingness to workwith non-programming platforms and programming platforms.
• Knowledge of industry best practices in enterprise-class software development and agile methodology
• Current GTS VCG SOR employee.
