Leidos is a FORTUNE 500 company bringing a mix of innovative technology and sector expertise to customers in the national security, engineering, and the health industries. Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Developer to support Post-Production Software Support (PPSS) and Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) engineering and technical services to the CECOM IEW&S Directorate Sensors and Mission Division (SMED) based in Aberdeen MD with operations located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Successful candidates will support our customer in creating capabilities and providing technical services, subject matter expertise, and software solutions and services for platforms such as the Long-Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3), Biometric Automated Toolset Army (BAT-A), Second Generation Forward Looking Infrared (SGF), Guardrail Common Sensor (GRCS), Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (EMARSS), Small Tactical Radar Lightweight (STARLite) and a full range of related Aerial Sensors Suite of Systems. This support is an essential in maintaining readiness for today’s modern platform sensor systems.

Primary Responsibilities

As part of a multifunctional team Sr Software Developer will be responsible for writing and maintaining source code, creating and maintaining software applications and applying frameworks involved in a software release. Duties include computer programming, documenting, managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in a software release life cycle and resulting in a software product. Expertise in one or more programming language is required. You will be required to works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area. The successful Candidate will typically be responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff. Responsible for developing technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution. Also, you will develop solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge. Works to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches. Requires deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain and has broad understanding of other related specialty areas.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline and 5+ years of prior relevant experience. Four additional years of applicable experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • Familiarity with Virtual Machines (VMWare, etc.)
  • Possess an active TS clearance with ability to obtain TSSCI.
  • Experience with C#, C++, C, .net, Perl, bash, JAVA.
  • Need to be able to develop in Linux.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows (10, Server 2012, Server 2019.)
  • Familiarity with cuda, gdal, kakadu (kdu), QT5, OpenCV, sqlite, libAV, jpeg8, CMAKE and G++
  • Ability at generating software engineering documentation.
  • Capable of working individually or in small teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to travel up to 20% CONUS to support operational requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CECOM Software Engineering Center (SEC) Production Software Support (PPSS) &Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) processes a plus.
  • Five years of functional experience performing analysis and decomposition of high-level user requirements into functional system, software and hardware requirements.
  • Familiar EMARSS family of systems.
  • Familiarity Visual Basic, Visual Studio, Python, plug-in architectures.
  • MicroFocus Caliber, MicroFocus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) (formerly known as HP QuickTest Professional (QTP)), Jira, Confluence, Perforce Helix ALM Git / GitHub repositories.
  • Familiarity with WiX (Visual Studio tool) for building installers.
  • Knowledge of VisualDSP++.
  • TS/SCI a plus.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00
