Leidos has a career opportunity for a System Engineer to provide technical leadership and support in the areas of IT planning, specifications/design, and solution implementation. The System Engineer will support the 844th Communications Group at three (3) locations that include: Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and the Pentagon. The well qualified candidate must have experience developing and implementing IT technical solutions. The preferred candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service, initiative, and communication skills, to include communicating with leadership and technical staff.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Participant and member of the System Engineering Team, working with the Enterprise Architecture Team to implement IT solutions.

  • Must possess broad range of IT technical skills and have a concentrated experience in one or more areas.

  • Support engineering review and documentation

  • Design and implement virtualized solutions using validated methodologies.

  • Implement technical solutions and create sustainment plans

  • Lead technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders/customers.

  • Must be available for on-call support

  • Support the transition of new implementations and upgrades from the Projects Team to the Enterprise Operations team.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • BS and 4 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree in Information Technology (IT) or related field of study with 2+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • 6+ years of experience in system architecture.

  • VMware system implementation experience

  • Windows Admin experience

  • Currently possess an active Secret security clearance

  • Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level III, e.g., Security+ CE

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Network management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime)

  • Implementing DISA STIGS

  • Microsoft Server (e.g., 2012, 2016, 2019)

  • Network storage tools

  • Network backup solutions

  • Linux

  • VMware

  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

  • Databases (SQL/Oracle)

  • High Availability Solutions

Clearance Required:

  • Requires an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Pay Range:

Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00
