What you’ll be doing...

Our network engineering team keeps us ahead of the competition. As Senior RF Engineer, expect to collaborate with multiple regions to reach synergies of processes and standards for all deployment of RF sources. He/she will be redesigning mature network areas to minimize capacity constraints and improve SINR/customer experience while working with other areas of network to ensure performance fixes and initiatives are in place. Senior Engineer should be able to use a wide variety of tools to ensure optimal and reliable service for Verizon Wireless customers, as well as, constantly evaluate and improve performance trends for the optimal network that we’re known for.

  • Managing search area issuance, candidate assessment, and approvals.
  • Redesigning of mature network areas to maximize performance and minimize capacity constraints.
  • Working on new cell sites, making sure the site is properly integrated into the network and optimized for peak performance.
  • Performing Macro/Small Cell /In-Building network design, zoning hearing including antenna selection and placement. Set the strategy for the region for RF radio and antenna designs on Small Cells and macros.
  • Planning frequency, PCI/RSI assignments and identifying technical parameters for network growth and improve the performance of voice and data wireless networks.
  • Identifying causes of RF interference and troubleshooting interference problems with System Performance.
  • Partnering with System Performance to improve network performance for existing and emerging technologies.
  • Using internal tools to process daily site related task and regulatory compliance.
  • Looking for areas to improve overall network performance, and provide technical leadership through analysis, troubleshooting and training of market and regional engineers as needed.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • RF Design Experience with Samsung equipment.
  • Site/Candidate selection & Review for new locations.
  • Strong understanding and experience with Macro/Small Cell & IN-building design concepts/Strategy to maximize coverage, capacity and performance.
  • Take ownership to mentor/guide In-Bldg team with current/Future In-building design and deployment.
  • Experience in RF design and optimization.
  • Knowledge of RF theory and practice, as well as LTE/VoLTE/5G technology.
  • Antenna knowledge - experience selecting the right antenna.
  • Knowledge of propagation modeling software as Atoll.
  • Tool Experience in ATOLL , Visio, Mapinfo, Google Earth, Word, PowerPoint, Excel are a must along with worksheet manipulation.
  • Understanding of 5G standards.
  • Good communication skills & Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of taking ownership of issues and drives them to resolution.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of LTE including VoLTE and RAN Network design and optimization.
  • Knowledge of Interacting professionally with customers (internal and external).
