What you’ll be doing...

As a Senior Manager, you will be part of the Mobile Private Network (MPN) team, leading a group of skilled network engineers focused on Operations & Integration, Implementations and Services Deployments, & Performance and Support for our Enterprise customer base. As the Senior Manager, you will lead projects that require cross-functional activities with MPN peer managers, HQ Planning, Performance, Operations, and other key teams to further increase efficiency, growth, and support capabilities & knowledge of yourself and your team.

  • Leading engineers that provide 24/7 support for Wholesale/Enterprise/Public Safety MPN and Onsite Private Network customers, execute break-fix procedures, Onboard new Enterprise customers, and monitor network performance.
  • Driving team to implement health checks and automated MPN or OPN customer testing initiatives.
  • Creating post mortem documents to outline root causes in the form of an RCA (Root Cause Analysis) document for network events that fall within MPN’s span of control.
  • Managing engineering effort in Service Assurance via creations of Performance Dashboards, Service surveillance and MPN element capacity reporting using various performance tools: Irisview, Sevone, and Netscout.
  • Leading effort of integrating Landslide for performance testing, support of Transport and mobility infrastructure migrations for 4G & 5G testing, and NetScout Readiness for full integration of all network elements into NetScout platform.
  • Leading Performance testing and analysis on New Virtual Gateways as well as Onboarding test customers on these Virtual Gateways as part of Operational Readiness.
  • Leading migration efforts & config changes for Enterprise Customers on MPN,while developing and driving automation solutions for MPN network migration activities to enable transformation initiatives.
  • Creating & maintaining playbooks and complete network resiliency drills to ensure minimal MTTR during production network incidents.
  • Leading the effort to transform the way we execute operations by leveraging automation tools to develop scalable workflows.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
  • Knowledge of MPLS networks, routers, Ethernet switches, firewalls, load balancers, transport infrastructure, wireless network infrastructure, VXLAN/SR network architecture.
  • Knowledge of virtualized 3GPP Mobile Packet Core network applications and related components, such as OpenStack, Load balancers, and Firewalls.
  • Experience in operations & engineering roles, or operating service provider networks.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Engineering or networking degree.
  • Certifications related to network equipment or routing.
  • Knowledge of Verizon data network architecture.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP standards and protocols: LTE, TCP/IP, DIAMETER and SIP.
  • Knowledge of 5G, IMS, LTE call flows, interfaces, protocols and wireless technologies.
  • Knowledge of the MPN architecture.
  • Experience in managing local and remote staff.
  • Experience in technical project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in SDN, NFV, and OpenStack.
