What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Network Repair Bureau is seeking a Senior Engineer Consultant with a product development mindset to join the NRB Automation Team. You will be the developer lead as part of the NRB Automation Team. You will manage a technical team consisting of engineering and architecture functions. In this role, you will primarily focus onautomation projects, data imports and other server-side scripts, system design (architecture), stakeholder management, researching and providing recommendations, on-call support, and mentoring junior developers.

• Utilizing strong leadership abilities, communication skills and an innovative mindset to partner with teams.
• Collaborating with team members including Maintenance Engineering, Planning, and data application owners to determine best practices and requirements as the business evolves.
• Analyzing data to ensure data integrity and utilize the data in decision making.
• Onboarding new concepts, building framework and end to end development to include testing through production.
• Managing the reliability, performance, and security of the automated processes and will be the subject matter expert with a strong focus on automation to eliminate manual processes.
• Creating an approach to problem-solving as well as a detailed understanding of coding.
• Tracking usability goals and prepare reports for senior management.

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or Economics.
• Strong coding skills, preferably Python.
• Experience in large-scale IT systems.
• Experience in project Management with knowledge of SAFE Agile Methodology.
• Knowledge of operating systems and applications.
• Ability to learn, adapt, and convert code to a new language on a timely basis.
• Ability to thoroughly test the developed applications prior to implementation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to analyze complex solutions and problems.
