Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead small teams of software engineers in the successful development and delivery of high-quality, scalable health care solutions
  • Design and develop software applications and application components in an agile environment
  • Integrate and implement custom created applications with commercial and open source software
  • Create high-quality software by conducting peer design/code reviews and developing automated test cases
  • Work with geographically distributed teams, with ample opportunity to learn from and mentor teammates in a fast-paced environment
  • Play a key role in the future of software products by working closely with product management and other stakeholders to aid solution development
  • Leverage the latest technologies to solve complex problems facing the health care industry
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
  • 8+ years of experience in developing and supporting enterprise applications using Java
  • Hands-on experience with software architecture, applications development life cycle and project management of web based applications
  • Experience building scalable, commercial web applications
  • Experience in code optimization and performance tuning
  • Experience working in highly interactive partnership with product management team
  • Experience in designing and developing database applications using SQL
  • Experienced all phases of a Software Development Life Cycle
  • Past experience in building a software product from the ground-up to live production
  • IOC using Spring experience using both XML and annotation driven context configuration
  • Micro / Web Service development experience
  • Strong Maven experience with some exposure to Jenkins and other DevOps CI environments
  • Use of Java IDE (IntelliJ/Eclipse) with debugger experience
  • Knowledge of SQL and Database development
  • Base understanding of web protocols like HTTP, FTP, TELNET, SFTP
  • Base understanding of encryption using TLS or SSL
  • Base understanding of core unix commands for managing file systems and processes
  • Understanding and implementation experience on any Java Unit testing frameworks - like Mockito etc
  • Understanding and practical implementation of common OO design patterns
  • Working with JEE application servers
  • Ability to act as an architect to lead the team to build new, innovative solutions
  • Past success in continuous integration and test-driven development
  • Successful track record of delivering multiple releases within a year and in an agile environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience developing web applications using HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Experience in the healthcare and/or financial domain
