Sr. Software Developer/ Engineer

Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Sr. Software Developer/ Engineer to develop and support multiple applications for the US Navy’s premier underwater testing facility based in beautiful West Palm Beach, FL. Applicant will be eligible to work remotely. Some travel to Andros Island, Bahamas may be required. In this job you will support a broad array of applications ranging from support of retail store operational excellence, flight management, and scheduling of assets in support of state of the art underwater defense system test and evaluation.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work through the entire software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, integration, testing, user training, and application maintenance.
• Analyze and understand customer requirements and software design objectives.
• Develop functional specifications.
• Positively interact with internal customers/end-users to gather and understand requirements.
• Work well in both a team environment and individually.
• Implement secure coding practices and maintain software code in compliance with DoD CyberSecurity mandates.
• Architect, design, and implement ASP.NET web based solutions using C#.
• Follow established configuration management processes to maintain source code control.
• Perform code reviews.
• Perform unit testing.
• Participate in various other types of testing, including end user testing support.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to other members of the development team.
• Willingness to mentor and share knowledge.
• Develop a familiarity with AUTEC's off-shore range environment including data flows and tracking systems and algorithms.
• Requires international travel to Andros Island, Bahamas in support of operations.
• Support periods of 24 hour on-call.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned or requested.

Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline or equivalent. 10 years related experience working in software development focusing mainly on the Microsoft ASP.Net environment. Developer technical certification and Security+ certification are required, but may be obtained within 6 months of hire date. Valid drivers license and passport will be required. Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies. Proven leadership and project management skills. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Experience learning systems and business models in a fast paced environment. Self-managed, takes initiative, and can manage customer expectations for support. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate at all levels to include management, developers, testers, and customers. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Experience with C# is preferred or VB.Net experience would be considered. Strong experience with SQL Server is preferred. Experience with SQL Reporting Services is considered a plus.
