Key Responsibilities

  • Software developer for Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP), and Physiologically based Pharmacokinetic modeling (PBPK) area for all their applications.
  • Must work closely with scientists in the QSP, PBPK area and be proficient with tools such as Matlab, Mathematica, SimCyp, C++, Julia, kdb+, Q, Q APIs, various Matlab toolboxes, AWS burst simulation and help them troubleshoot their modeling and simulation workflows.
  • Build Q wrappers around Matlab code for post processing work.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of a PAAS/SAAS solution such as MPS (Matlab Parallel Cluster), PBPK tools such as SimCyp, ODEs and solvers.
  • Work with other IT teams as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Requires knowledge of a range of technologies, architectures, and solutions supporting modeling, simulation within QSP area of Research and Early development domain for a Pharma company. This is typically gained through a university degree and 4-6 years of experience. Demonstrates expertise in the technical deliverables and support for the various tools and platforms in the QSP/PBPK space. Actively participates in trouble-shooting of routine problems. Makes decisions that impact own work and other groups/teams. Works under minimal supervision. May act as a technical point of contact. Acts as a functional mentor to more junior team members. May represent team or function on program or project teams.
  • Good knowledge and experience with the various tools such as Matlab, MPS, Mathematica, SimCyp, C++, Julia, kdb+, Q, Q APIs. Must be familiar with various Matlab toolboxes such as Simulink, simbiology, etc. in addition Must have working experience with Matlab coding, and a good understanding of ODEs and solvers. Must have woring knowlegde of AWS burst simulation and cost optimization techniues. Good to have knowledge of columnar databases such as kdb+.
  • Does not have any supervisory responsibility, however, may act as a functional mentor to more junior team members.
  • Makes decisions while understanding the team's work and how it fits into the broader enterprise. May need support from within the team or outside the team when working on broader or complex topics in understanding environment.​
