What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Cloud Platform (VCP) Services team builds and supports a variety of applications and APIs to support VCP operations. As the scale of the VCP OpenStack and Webscale deployments increase, we need skilled software engineers to develop and support the automation necessary to manage the Verizon cloud.

  • Designing, developing and implementing applications for cloud management and tenant onboarding.
  • Gathering requirements from stakeholders and developing strategies for implementation.
  • Executing continuous integration and continuous deployment while leveraging DevOps best practices.
  • Troubleshooting problem reports and resolving them. Escalating issues as required.
  • Testing solutions at scale for resiliency and maintainability.
  • Implementing enhancements and bug fixes to existing applications and services.

Where you'll be working...

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

This role is eligible to be considered for the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in programming/scripting skills (e.g. JavaScript, Python, Shell, other).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in working on small to mid-sized projects.
  • Experience in one or more of the following technologies: NodeJS, Angular 11+, TypeScript, HTML, SCSS, RESTful APIs.
  • Experience in debugging software implementation issues, including debugging logic and algorithms.
  • Experience in CI/CD concepts and technologies (Ansible, git (Bitbucket/Gitlab), Gitlab Runners).
  • Experience in both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience in working with container-related technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience in Linux configuration and administration.
  • Experience in working on enterprise-scale OpenStack deployments.
  • Ability to handle a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience in high-availability hardware and software models.
