Description

Leidos Dynetics Defense Systems is seeking a talented Software Engineer - Manufacturing Test to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems supporting the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (CHGB). With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, Prototyping, scientific and IT solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work along a group of test engineers (electrical/mechanical) and test technicians, assisting with the evaluation, development, and testing of software used for acceptance and qualification testing of flight hardware. The selected candidate will develop the framework in which the hardware and software systems interact. The selected candidate will also handle all tasks assigned by the lead engineer and may aid in writing reports and updating records. The candidate will be part of a diverse team whose work will include electromechanical chassis diagnosis and troubleshooting, test software qualification, modeling and simulation development, HWIL testing, configuration of test equipment, and subsystem testing and troubleshooting. Work will be conducted a laboratory environment.

Project assignments could be focused in one or multiple of the following areas:

  • Evaluation of GFE test equipment in both software-based and hardware-in-the-loop configurations in Windows environments and hard real-time operating systems.

  • Development of National Instruments data acquisition web-based custom graphical user-interface tools to support control and real-time visualization of results.

  • Analysis if test data to ensure compliance with both current and future test requirements.

  • Integration of simulations into software environments through software interface development and plugin development.

  • Evaluation/Development of operational systems and recommending design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with 8 years of relevant experience.

  • Candidate must demonstrate relevant skills in one or more of the focus areas, have good interpersonal skills, and have the desire to work in a highly focused technical team.

  • Candidate must have experience in functional testing of electrical/electronics assemblies.

  • Candidate must have familiarity with working with electrical schematics and cable/wiring diagrams.

  • Candidate must have familiarity with the following programming languages: MATLAB with Simulink RTOS and LabVIEW

  • Candidate must be willing to learn project specific programming languages that are required in the test environment.

  • Candidate must be able to work independently, or as part of a team, in a dedicated workforce.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical/electronics assembly or test.

  • Experience with FPGA development, telemetry components, RF subsystems, flight software, SharePoint, or Git.

  • Familiarity with C/C++ and Python.

  • Experience in PCB design.

  • Have advanced experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
