We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team in enhancing our live streaming video applications and services, which are in active use by our global customers. This opportunity is located in Dayton, OH.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and debug mission critical software source code.

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle.

  • Research and integrate new technologies into our development and production systems.

  • Work on the hardest open problems in live-streamed video.

  • Direct supervisor of other development team members.

  • Serve as a technical lead for various project and mentor other engineers.

  • Effectively manage issues to completion and communicate status to management, teammates, or customers as appropriate.

  • Ensure delivery of technical products and milestones to internal and external customers on time and within budget using disciplined methods of software engineering and industry standards.

  • Lead peer reviews, help prepare software development estimates, help write technical documentation, and perform customer support activities as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or other technical discipline and at least four years of software engineering experience. Addiional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Development experience in C, C++, Java, and/or JavaScript.

  • Prior experience with standard software development tools, particularly Jira, Git, and Jenkins.

  • Familiarity with basic web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, WSDL, REST, and JSON.

  • Demonstrable problem solving skills.

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (US Citizenship is required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies and Test-Driven Development.

  • Experience leading a small to medium-sized team of software developers.

  • Familiarity with various software test tools such as TestComplete, Selenium, JUnit, and SoapUI.

  • Familiarity with at least one Relational Database Management System (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc…).

  • Familiarity with NoSql databases (Apache Accumulo, MongoDB, etc.).

  • Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and related client/server configuration.
