Leidos is seeking qualified candidates for Software Information technology engineers to support the infrastructure development and operations of a large scale DevSecOps environment and the implementation of a big data solution. The solutions developed will support the operations and deployment of a large scale distributed simulation training capability for the DOD. This position will be a part of a larger team of engineers and senior architects and involve a wide range of challenging and fast paced solutions to bring "leap-ahead" technology into the realm of state of the art. The position requires hands-on development of network and IT appliance solutions requiring in-depth understanding of network and IT solutions, conditions and features.

A successful candidate will demonstrate understanding of network architecture issues including effects on latency and throughput. A demonstrated experience with automated tools and appliances is required as those aspects of the system will be required to minimize network management and maintenance, and adapt to changing network conditions. Experience with cloud and virtual servers is necessary to succeed and understanding of tools and applications used in their management is required. the candidate may shift areas of involvement depending on the needs of the evolving program, but a candidate should anticipate dealing with specifications for network architecture, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments. Network operations are also in play and duties may include monitoring, installation, modification, testing and servicing of network equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

• Possess or be able to acquire a DOD Secret clearance

• BS in Information technology or related field

• Demonstrate at least 4 years of engineering level design, development and implementation of network architectures and solutions

• Demonstrate involvement with distributed systems and experience with solving latency issues

• Demonstrated experience in an Agile Development environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Specific experience with DOD networks

• Specific experience with modeling and simulation environments

• Specific experience with distributed training systems
