The Leidos Intelligence Group currently has an opening for a Software Engineer to work in our Springfield VA location. This is an exciting opportunity to use your engineering skills helping the Information Technology Enterprise Managed Services (ITEMS) User Facing Services (UFS) mission at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Research Office.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide software engineering support for Research Acquisition Suite (RAS) software.
The RAS tool is the formal mechanism to capture and approve Programs, Projects and Acquisition Requirements that inform budget decisions within the Research Office.
Provide RAS Tool system administration, configuration management, and security services
Provide user community support by resolving system issues, user interface issues and troubleshooting software
Perform organizational updates to the tool when the Research organizational structure changes
Conduct proficiency training for the appropriate user role(s)
Provide new user and refresher training
Maintain a technical architecture, cloud migration testing plan, and roadmap to a successful transition of the RAS application to NGA’s implementation of Amazon Web Services’ GovCloud services
Migrate RAS from a prototype tool to a fully functional cloud compliant accredited system
Provide engineering and coding to convert the RAS tool from coldfusion to node JS
Contribute in all phases of the development life cycle
Ability to develop well designed, testable, efficient code
Maintain software baselines, maintenance/management of software updates
Recommend changes to improve established application processes
Demonstrate ability to take initiative and work independently and under stringent timelines
Basic Qualifications:
• Expert knowledge and experience with Coldfusion 2018 and nodeJS
• MySQL, Model Glue Framework, Bootstrap, Ajax, JavaScript
• Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processes
• Demonstrated ability to creatively solve technical problems
Preferred Qualifications:
Current IA Certification: Security + preferred. Cert must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Excellent briefing, writing, communication, administrative, and organizational skills
Education & Experience:
Requires Bachelors Degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.
